Star Wars Galaxies

So we all know that there have been people litterally on these boards for 3 odd years complaining about a game, but not actually DOING anything about it... so here is a challenge

Instead of just handing out the same circular argument year in and year out why not DO something about it.

The challenge is this..

you can't control something you dont own so why not take all that energy spent in asking for something you can't have and listing the same reasons over and over again (it wastes good virtual ink that..) go design and publish a game that will meet your expectations.  Get together start a small not for profit company and design if from the ground up the way you want to.  Then publish it, market it and distribute it and run the servers etc.  Then you will have absolute total control and maybe your game will be better and someone might play it?

So that's the challenge go make a replacement game.   Dont leave it for someone else to do ANY longer get out those books learn to code and do 3d art and make a game that will knock everyones socks off..

What a geek. It wasn't only the concept and core game mechanics that everyone loved so much. It was the Star Wars galaxy that it was set in. How about this challenge to you. All you fanbois, the little that still actually play, drop your sub and go play WOW or everquest. It is what SWG has turned into and those other games do it so much better. Then SWG will finally die off and a new SW mmo can be created and released.

Isn't this exactly what some people at the "flightless bird" site are doing? You know, the site we refer to as "that site" or "the site we cannot mention." The one that has an E in there, and ends with a U. Might even be an M in there, also.

This "challenge" is pretty silly.

"If you're not happy with your cable company's service, I challenge you to build a cable network that you will be satisfied with!"

"If you don't like the way your plastic surgery turned out, I challenge you to go to med school and show me how it should be done!"

"If you don't like how the war in Iraq is turning out, I challenge you to invade Iran and get better results."

Ummm...  Lmao...  ummax, you never cease to entertain  : )

I believe we have done a lot of good already, and we will continue to do so.

Here is the problem.. Star Wars as an IP is perfect for porting to an MMO hands down.  $OE obviously has the rights to this IP for MMO purposes as of now.  The pre-cu SWG was so good because the universe you were in was FUN to explore you could see stuff you've seen in the movies, games, books..

To make up your own IP is really a hit or miss, either people will love it or hate it and trying to make up a world around an IP that you are making up as you go while at the same time trying to design an MMO with some people with no real knowledge on what they're doing.. yeah I don't see this happening. 

The point is NGE is a WASTE of what could be a good Star Wars MMO and game.

You say we are obsessed with a game that hasn't been around for years. I say you are obsessed with us. Which is worse?

Although I am looking at Multiverse as a platform which is free.  Hmm.... tempting.

/sigh  I feel like a geek again :)

That's what I thought rather complain and demand but not do anything constructive.

for the moment I haven't actualy been poking you guys this much until last night when I started to get the flu and since I can't go to work today I thought I would poke you some more.   (dont worry I will fade into the background in another day or so again but for now if you want proof of my ailment i can post a screeny of it if you like or possibly mail you a snotty hanky ^^)
