I own the game, just Guild Wars, not the other campaigns. I never really tried it because it was kinda confusing, but what MMO isnt at first? I love the Free part of it and the fact that its like a series of missions I really like that. I cant really say this fairly, but people say that its doesnt have like any weapons and armours. Thats really what gets to me in MMOs. Does it really lack items? Or does it have a fair enough ammount to keep me in it? I also hear the money aspect of it is kinda crappy. I hear its hard to make and theirs no real way to make it besides quest and figthing. I usually need some other form of skill beside combat in games. Ill probably still like it without these, but it kinda hinders the game for me. Would it be a good idea to play? If so, what should I be doing when I start? I hate being a newb in games..lol.. |

first thing i will corect you on an idea you have about guildwars. it is NOT gear oriented. max armour and max weapon can be bought/looted very early in the game. also max level you can reach it within 3-4 days of hardcore play, 1-2 weeks of casual play. the catch is in the skills you have unlocked. yes within a week you will be at the same level as me but unless you have captured specific elites and found a good build for your character you stand a small chance to beat me. though you have a chance if you are smarter than me. tweaking your skills finding builds (since you can only leave an outpost/town with 8 skills out of the hundreds that exist per class.) is a must. its more strategy and think before you act rather than player A owning player B with the maul of the Ubergods because he spent 40 + hours grinding a dungeon boss.
just to mention that getting gold in this game takes a long time. giving a random someone 1000 gold (1 platium) is a big deal. a Maxed Armour set can cost you about 3k-5k (including materials salvaged) but if you want something more there are the equivalent sets but "prestige" or "elite" armour sets which cost 15k + the price of materials (a whole set of prestige armours can 100k) that prestige armour has the same stats as the normal but they look WAY COOLER and it shows more your experience with GW (PVE) here are some arts of the armour sets for each class you will notice the comparisson between normal and prestige/elite armour art. http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Armor_types same thing for weapons, but they are a tad different depending on the class. they are not as important as armours though, in my case i dont really bother, i went to the underworld and got myself an maxed eternal bow and i added some inscriptsions and strings etc... basically as long as the weapon is maxed all you need is to find the right inscriptions you need. i also have about 6-7 bows each for a different occasion depending on what i am doing.

It sounds..different. It might be a game I would really enjoy if I actually took time to get into it and understand what the hell is going on lol. So in your opinion is it a really good game? Or will it be one of those that wont last for me very long? |

i love this game and it can last you sooo long, it just has so much to do and its not all like kill 10 enemies and come back , kill 50 enemites and come back no no no no nNO NO NO...
storyline for 3 campains + 1 expansion elite armours + dies thousands of skills to buy hundreds of elite skills to capture hundreds of quests couple of minigames many heroes to build/train 2 dozen titles to get (there are even drunken titles, party animal titles) challenge missions with ladders 18 dungeons now if you have done all that redo in "hard mode" and much more that i cant think of now and i have not even gotten into the PvP aspect edit: oh and every weekend there is an event and on holydays there are festivities activities and festivals |

The title of this thread reminded me of the Old Spice Hair and body wash commercial...Is it right for me? ...but seriously...it's right for you. I just started a week ago myself for the first time...it's been fantastic so far. |
