Hi there all, basicly I have a problem with the diplomacy quests in VSOH. I haven't played for a month or 2 However I quit because of this reason. The problem was that I loved the diplomacy quests but it seemed that you needed the clothing that was the reward for the quest to complete the current quest??? Hence I never completed a ton of the diplomacy quests because I didn't have the right amount of a certain standing to do the next part. Was I doing something wrong or did anyone else experience the same thing?

You weren't doing anything wrong, that's they way they are.  I had to work on directly gaining prestige and also on turning in information for gear to overcome it.  It's seems to be the most difficult in low to lower-mid levels, and then you kind of get over the hump.

Ultimately, you'll need 2000  prestige for most, if not all, diplomatic centers, but the quests and gear seem to be more in line with that goal at the higher levels. 

If you pick it up again, keep on trucking, diplomacy opens up a lot, and offers a lot more later on and also becomes much more integrated with adventuring and to a lesser extent... crafting.

Well I think what you are missing is the whole civic diplomacy thing.  Once you get to lvl 10 I think you gain access to civic diplomacy.  This is how you increase your diplomatic prescense and gain diplo equipment.  You pick an npc and engage them in a parley.  If you win you gain some information.  The information can be given to an appropriate information broker for rewards.   The rewards can be stuff for money, clothes, temporary buffs, or even cards.  This is the bread and butter of diplomacy the equivelent of killing mobs in adventuring.  This will get you the presence you need to continue doing diplo quests.
