Doubt is a pain too lonely to know that faith is his brother.

If you think youre going to play with the game looking like that, you'll be dissappointed.

Shows just how little you know about it. I have the graphics turned full just on dx9 and it definitely looks ATLEAST that good. So  yes, you will be able to play with it looking like that. Don't act like you know all about games, graphics, and what servers can handle...because obviously you don't.

Nice. Impressed and jealous. Why, does the graphic in the game impress you that much that you don't think it is possible to have.

What are you comparing to?
Shadowbane?
That game is rather old. Things have changed.

Darkfall?
Ok, so you think AoC looks so much better than Darkfall so using the rule if it look to good then it is not true.

I mean you really have to be impressed by the looks of Conan compared to your "favourite" games when you come up with a phrase like that. So really in the end I guess the appropriate word (from me) would be "Thank you". Get Conan yourself instead of looking from the outside in.

I would say yes. The water reflections are a DX10 "feature". The light and shadow also point towards DX10.

Fattynopants and Orphes: I said nothing that justified you insulting me. Save me the fanboyism and try some objectiveness. I have this game preordered by the way.

"The game has some pretty challenging performance issues, and while the graphics are really good, the number of pauses and skips as the game loads this stuff up can get really irritating. From the talk of other players in the chat, feeding Conan super-fast CPUs, gobs of RAM, and dual $500 video card setups helps somewhat, but it won't eliminate the issue. I hope that these issues can be ironed out for release, and in the case of MMO launches, this has happened in the past as debug code has been turned off and final optimizations went into place." http://www.atomicgamer.com/article.php?id=554

"The graphics are definitely high end and in my opinion the best “realistic” graphics currently available in a mmorpg. As for their performance it’s sadly what I expected. The game is a big fat resource hog and my PC is having trouble providing me with a decent looking and playable experience to my personal requirements. Your mileage may vary but here are my specs which should give you an idea of where your performance will be:

Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6400 @ 2.13GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 2048MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT 512mb
Display Mode: 1680 x 1050 (32 bit) (60Hz) *NOTE: Lowering to 1440×900 had better results. See Part 2.

The game has three options for default settings: Low/Med/High and a lot of customizable options for scaling. I am able to run it on Med with tweaks to AAx2, AFx4, shadows completely off, draw distance <1000, and textures on medium and bloom OFF. On average I am able to pull 25-40fps (and yes, it fluctuates regularly giving it the illusion of hitching or being skippy) when I’m not in PvP. When I get into PvP my FPS drops under 20 and drops below 5 in huge fights with spell effects. It’s completely unacceptable performance for pseudo-twich pvp and I hope that the problem will be rectified before release." http://www.keenandgraev.com/?p=982

There are several reviews stating similar things. I certainly hope the issues are gone by release as well. The thing is, no matter what they do, I doubt it will be playable with "screenshot settings" in big-scale PVP without framerate issues etc. unless your computer is COMPLETELY off the hook. Most people don't have that. So to repeat myself: If you think you're going to play with the game looking like that, you'll be disappointed.

Here are the official system requirements:

Required

OS: Windows Vista/XP
Processor: 3GHz Pentium IV
RAM: 1GB RAM
Video Card: Shader Model 2.0 and 128MB RAM: NVIDIA GeForce 5800 or ATI 9800

Recommended

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz (E6600) or better
Vdeo Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7950GX2 or better
RAM: 2GB or more

Enhanced for: DirectX 10, 64-bit processors, multi-core
Supports Parental Controls on Windows Vista

As with all games, the minimum requirements to play the game in a decent manner are the Recommended requirements. Any higher than that and the experience is enhanced further.

A top of the line nVidia 8xxx has zero issues with everything maxed in the game. The game looks exactly (or better) than those screenshots. A 9xxx line will give even better
