play everything. They will roll toons in a MMORPG and then sit down the next day and play their Xbox 360.  In fact, they might own every console because they LOVE games. If an MMO plays better on a console they will play it there, if a FPS on comes out on the PC they will fire up their comp. To real gamers (people who love video games) PC or console elitism does not exist and they discard any person who acts like it does. PS3, Xbox 360 and PC fanbois alike. Real gamers don't cut down games they have never played or troll game forums just to bash other peoples games.

It is sad that so many people have to get so defensive about their niche in gaming. It is also sad that people have to attack other games and systems to make themselves feel better. Lets take Age of Conan for example. I seriously read a thread where someone said that the fact that AoC is being made for a console means that the game will suck for the PC and that Hitler should have killed console gamers instead of jews. I have read other threads were PS3 owners continually bash xbox3 60 games and vice versa. It seems like humans have to have a justification to the purchase of their product. As for me I just collect all of the systems I can (albeit slowly) and play the games that are best on each.

MMORPG fanbois are the worst though. They defend their games to the death it seems and actively troll other games forums. The fact that a WoW fanboi has to come over to AoC and start hate threads is ridiculous and the same applies for AoC fanbois bashing WAR. I, honestly, have never said GO BACK TO WoW or WoW sucks. I have never played that game so I do not spew hatred for it. It would be stupid and ignorent for me to do so. So why do people do this? Why can't we just enjoy all games and systems? Do we have to make our decisions feel superior to every one elses? Or does this all have to do with e-peens?

If you were to just read the gaming forums you would probably come away thinking that the gaming society of today is HORRIBLE. I sometimes wonder if some people should even be allowed to touch a keyboard or controller due to their obvious social disorders. But who am I to say that honestly? Alas it seems that the harmony of early gamers has gone the way of internet barbarians.

I am a forum troll hunter. Be afraid trolls, very afraid!

Everyone who started doing online FPS gaming in the mid 90's knows smack talk is half the fun of gaming.  Look at the popularity of FPS Doug on you tube for example.  It's evolved in MMORPG games as well.

It's because people, the human race- loves conflict.  Conflict fascinates us.  It sells tickets to sporting events.  It captivates the viewers of competitive reality television.  Get over it.  Im not holding your hand and singing Kum ba yah with you...

...noob.

Ooooh lookit!  We're having conflict right now.  People like you just masquerade as the righteous- but you're no different than anybody else.  Sooner you recognize that- more "real" you'll be.

I like your style. You take what they say and turn that against them!

I have to agree with the OP. My first gaming machine was an Atari 2600. Went to a Vic-20 to Commodore-64 to Nintendo, etc...  Right now I have what was a state-of-the-art pc from two years ago, a Nintendo Wii and DS, Playstation 2, Gamecube, and an original NEC.

However I'm having my doubts about upgrading my pc every few years to keep up. I just can't keep up with the constant high cost of upgrading. So my pc is going to be used for gaming less. When new MMO's come out I can't play I will stop playing them and purchase a console for gaming. At least I know I won't have to upgrade for many years. But yes if I could afford to I'd have every gaming console and a top of the line pc.

What it really boils down to is that more people are playing a game rather than playing a role.

More and more MMOGs are being marketed towards gamers rather than role players.

About the only effort devs put in to RPing anymore is slapping a outstanding IP on a game.

Sad but true.

No, this isn't a game. Smack talking about games is stupid and gets you nowhere. You forgot about the word "Game" in my sentence.

Ever consider that it comes down to the fact that MOST people do not have enough money to shell out the ridiculous cost of having every game, console, pc rig, that exists out ther
