WAR (Warhammer Online)

I'm not in for a big SURPRISE, I agree that nothing will hold kids back, infact nothing will hold thousands back from AoC, the SURPRISE will come when most everyone's computer will not play this game.

Remember features and playability are two separate issues, Also remember you can't return PC mmo games. If Funcom would like to stand by their product and give a unique feature they would have a 1 800 number to return AoC if not satisfied.... But instead they will have 1-20 solo to trick more people before players can get to the open world to review the game.

Warhammer seems to be the better choice, I think !!!

I am personaly excited for WAR to come out.  I have been saving money to build a new machine for some time.  And I will not build the new machine until I Find a game worthy of it.  I seen enough to know that AOC is not that game for me,  However I will admit, AOC will have a following like any other MMO on the market.

Racial Variety -- WAR Wins

Class Variety -- WAR Wins

Data Availible -- WAR Wins

STORY -- TBD

Graphical Superiority -- AOC wins for tech in use

PVP = WAR was built around this to start with, AOC started that way, but then shifted into PVE for an undisclosed reason......  WAR wins this point.

World Size -- TBD

WAR = 4 of 8

AOC = 2 of 8

My Choice has not been made...yet...but the scale is certainly telling the tail for my prefferences.

EQ -- Content and Size of World & Classes

Vanguard -- Class System

Shadow Bane -- Skill System and PVP system

and remember.. you are in a WAR..

AoC-you're a slave on a ship thats gets destroyed in a storm..you land on an island and don't see anybody for a while..then you go to the main land...

Both will be good games  but as far as lore goes (i know/read the Robert E Howard Conan stories and know they have been around for the 30s but  they are not the focus point in AoC just the world the game is based around) WAR has a much stronger tie to its lore.

I am a gamer and I look forward to all of them: AoC, WAR, TCOS and whatever else may be coming out (as long as the game is playable at launch, no more Vanguards, please). There are features in AoC I look forward to and there are features in WAR and TCOS that I can't wait to try for myself. I am happy that both Funcom and Mythic are trying to bring something new and different to the current mmo mold (in each their own way) and kudos to them. At the moment neither of the games are out so it really is impossible which one is better, we can have this talk in a year or so. What I expect from my games is to deliver entertainment and I am sure that AoC, WAR and TCOS will deliver. People are different, tastes vary and so do game development budgets, some ideas sound good on paper but do not translate well into game world... there is no right answer when it comes to mmo, so keep an open mind.

cos WoW made a game cartoony game doesn't meant its forbidden for all other mmo to make cartoony graphics

Both AOC and WAR will be fine, but i do believe that WAR will have more ppl playing once its out. WAR's graphics havent even been truly shown yet.  Once its out then we can make judgements.

I think it is doable in 4-5 years by a person who is away with his friends MOST of the time

War will be more polished. It is more ready for release then AoC but it got pushed back to fall to make it more polished.

AoC couldn't afford that so they are releasing an unfinished game.

Haha, I do think that's mostly from the last 2 months though. My IGN record probably speaks more clearly, going on 10k posts there ;)

HOWEVER :D I wasn't claiming anything about having friends, but I still don't consider the rest of the game anything close to "real" life.

Ow and if you call that "flaming" you have more serious issues than the simple one I was referring to.
