I think his point is valid, altho I wouldn't use those words to best describe this game.

The point is, anyone who played Lineage 2 knows that game is so hardcore about grinding it's not fun. If I remember correctly it took a year for the first guy to hit max lvl in lineage 2, and that was done by grinding because that game barely has quests to help leveling.

Lineage 2 is a game made by koreans for koreans, not trying to be biased but it seems koreans enjoy the kind of game with lots of grinding involved. Or at least the developers there seem to think that way.

Will this game be the same?

 

About the "shemale" commentary, I always hated the way characters looked in Lineage 2. Male characters looked gay and female characters just looked stupid like those schoolgirls from anime. I'd best describe characters in lineage 2 looking like they are tall children wearing awesome armor and weapons. Too "anime" for my taste.

Now I could care less about looks if the game had an awesome world, PvP and no mindless grinding.

If this game has these things I'm in.

The flaw in your point is you are talking about Lineage 2 not Aion. More over the reason that persons post was not greeted in a friendly manner is one, the games they play are guilty of grind and two if he had done any looking into the facts of Aion he would know just how wrong his statement was. Aion was made to appeal more to a western audience.

 

That sounds good to me (about the western audience).

All the comparison to Lineage 2 is because they are being made by the same guys... I'm pretty skeptical when it comes to Korean games, guess i'll have to wait for release to judge it myself.

The game being made by the same guys is a double edged argument, they could make a L2 copy out of Aion and take all their customers from L2 to this new game, and then release L3 (which is in the making) to kill Aion, or they could make a different concept and attract new players to their games, seems quite logical to me.

 

Anyways, beta testing can't lie, people reached level 34 (out of 50) in 15 days, 34 being the top level on this second stage of korean closed beta, with a game time limited to 10h per day or something like that. Devs stated that hardcore players would be able to reach top level in a month, 3 months for the casual players, which seems quite alright for me. Then, we know there is a lot of fluffy things in this game, and many ways to progress ingame which won't require you to be online 24/7.

About the shemale thing, its quite easy to go in youtube and type "aion customization" to realize that this game is next gen in that also, you might want to look like a drag queen in steroids, or look like the manliest macho ever, but that's cause the customization system is cool like that.

i would say it is, im never very into new games but my expectations of aion are very high

im sold on the grafix. some may say that grafix are not that big of a deal. i disagree. ive found most mmo's to be very(very) similar. so assuming that this game is like most mmo's, it is the grafix that set it apart.  IMO conan and warhammer look lack luster. Aion looks awsome!!!!

Yes so far everytjhing in aion looks great.  I have been following this game for a while now and the anticipation is pretty high. This is going to be a groundbreaking game in terms of style, the fluid animation and overall gameplay.

i cant wait.

I agree with the guys above me , Aion graphics and animation look so sweet and it still has months to improve.

And the gameplay sounds promising with new original ideas. Like flying around like an angel or demon , now that's cool!

In conclusion I will say the graphics are very desirable and also some of the features but I do not think it will be the next "great mmo" as because it is not delivering to much other then graphics. Imo it's an lineage 3 typ deal.

To also note thats not rly an original idea and has been done. Not typically angels/demons rly but angels and such.

Ya most mmorpgs just have graphics to set them apart. This is what the problem is now days imo.
Idk much about warhammer but I know conan is having many new features compared to games already out. But do you really think graphics set games apart? The longest lasting mmo is Ultima Online check out those graphics =P.

Your first point is valid, graphics don't make or break a game, but you obviously haven't looked into this game enough, this game features a lot of content and things to do, it's not only graphics, and it's not L3 type, a different franchise, with different intentions.

Most dynamic, polished, pretty well animated and funny combat i've seen out of all the upcoming games.

If you like flashy attacks like that you should check out Cabal Online.   And the combo system in Cabal makes it fun aswell.
