I have played CoH/CoV for a few months but I need to know something before I keep playing. What is there to do at the endgame? I know that with games such as WoW there are giant dungeons and huge boss fights but I dont know about anything like that. What kind of stuff should I expect after I hit the max lvl?

Well the endgame of CoH/V has many different End-Game Task Forces and Strike Forces, the Epic Archetypes and many Archvillain/Hero missions which require a pretty strong team to take down.

You could technically say there is no end-game because they really want you to (once you hit 50 on one character) start another and re-live the experience

The enemy is so dumb! They believe that WE are the enemy! - A famous orc commander.

- Hunting down purples recipies (can be done by killing ANY lieutnant level 51+, solo/group/raid)

- RSF/STF/LGTF, the hardest challenges of the game.  You can try to make it even harder with restriction, such as a 1 AT only for the SF/TF.  (specific badges + SHO for the first 2, but they are subpar compared to IOs or purples)

- Rikti Warship/Hamidon Raiding (specific badges + HO for the Hami, but they are subpar compared to IOs or purples).

- Badges, tons of them to acquire.

- Accolades, not that many of them and you will most likely have a few already, but they are: 10% hps, 5% hps/endurance, 5% hps, 10% endurance, Defensive/resist bonus for 60 seconds, offensive/recharge bonus for 60 seconds, Psi defense/resist for 60 seconds, freeze pistol, enhance status effects for 60 seconds.

- Costumes outfits, tons of them to acquire.  You also have 4 extra costumes slot to unlock.

- Unique and weird storylines, such as the Firebase Zulu, Time Travel or weirder.

- Epic characters, Kheldians or Crab/Widows.

- Another character.

- "If I understand you well, you are telling me until next time. " - René Levesque about the denial NO on the poll to his dream, project and goal. (Free translation)

The more cynical amongst us would say, not a lot.

They've improved this aspect a little over the years but all end-game really offers (which is true of many mmos) is grinding for 'rewards'. And the problem is by the time you reach 50 you'll already be feeling grind-fatigue from the repetitive missions.

I don't know about the villain epics (which look interesting), but the hero ones are very disappointing. They look cool and most people feel a buzz when they make their first squid, but it quickly wears off. The forms are deadly dull - limiting you to 4-5 actions in each form, compared to the dozen+ you enjoy with a regular toon. And their human form powers aren't terribly exciting.

Hero side once you get to 50 you unlock the kheldian epic archtype.   Though replaying the game over at level 1 may sound "sucky" they play really different from the other hero AT's.  With Issue 12 villains will be getting an epic AT of their own as well.

Between the various Strike/Taskforces, collecting recipes and the flashback system it will be a long time before a 50 runs out of things to do.

Playing Kheld to 50 is not like the character you played to 50 to unlock it. Kheldians are called epic because they have a whole storyline just for them. You can also always do what most players do, start a new chracter using a different archtype. All the archtypes play differently and no two are the same.

If you belong to a SG/VG, there's also the mentoring and leadership roles that you can step into. Sure, you'll have sidekicks/lackeys along the way, but in the 45-50 range, you can do some serious farming and helping out your lowbie SG/VG members. And the former leaders are often burnt out and more than happy to hand over the reins to someone else.

There are also costume contests to hold.

I wasn't implying that Kheld's play like a scrapper (my 1st 50).  What I was trying to say is that starting over again at level 1 sometimes discourages people who aren't familiar with a game.  Some do not want to "do over" the whole game again once they hit the level cap.

It's not only archtypes that play differently but the different kinds of specific archtypes.  Some people can't get enough of Blasters and make mulitple kinds (fire, ice, sonic, etc) as an example.
