Lets take another example.  You tell me you have an invisible airplane.  I dont have to prove the invisible airplane doesnt exist - you are the one that has to convince me it does.  If you cant, or wont, it is reasonable to claim BS.

Perfect example is God.  I dont have to prove God exists for people to believe he is real. 

You need to learn commen sense before posting but I have already told you that.

Lets take an example. You tell me you are making a game. I say, cool, can I play it ? You say, no you have to wait for it to finish. Then you can try if for free. The thing you are not saying then is OMG, it is vaporware or BS. The only one who has that right is the investors - and they are still paying the bills.

OK, lets use your example.  2 years go by, and I start taking signups for beta on my website!  6 months later I remove it.  I let you know the whole time that beta is around the corner...and continue that for another year and a half.  Then I announce a clan beta will begin soon!  Even taking personal info on a few guilds that have been approved for the clan beta.  But the clan beta never starts.  2 years later I announce a "fully functional and stable" beta build is complete!  (nevermind that I have been suggesting I had a suitable beta build for at least several years) Nothing significant happens for about another year and a half...and here we are. 

So, what do you think of my game?  It has the most impressive feature list, promises the biggest virtual world ever, gameplay never before seen.  So good it will sell itself.  Can you play it now, under NDA?  No...we are like...looking for a publisher, or something.  But dont worry, we have also created the most sophisticated AI testing bots ever seen.  Pros are testing it, we dont want any public beta testers to break NDA and sell our awesome secrets to the competition.  Besides, I have investors.  No investor has ever lost money on a game project, so you know I am legitimate and am not talking crap.  Really.  Now, I have to go work on my invisible plane.

We would give troll a link to beta and they would scream vaporware.

They would be playing the game and yet they would still scream about it never coming out in general chat.

Let us waste our time on this game, don't waste yours if you really think this game will never see the light.

No one has to prove anything. MMORPG.com has a set of listing criteria. If a developers project satisfies that criteria it is listed if it does not it won't be. If you think DFO may not satisfy that criteria PM MMORPG staff. listings are not decided by petition and I suspect never will be.

Oh wait this entire thread is flame bait and nothing to do with getting DFO de-listed . You gottta laugh the amount of energy people waste to get a rise  :) :) GG

Sure, I'd like to see them broaden there mandate. A couple of things they have reported in news that won't be getting listings looked interesting to me.

I think there needs to be some kind of quality control as to what gets listed and supported here...  I mean you have games like Atriarch for example that is never going to see the light of day.. What's the point of it being here? It's not like people can discuss a game that they will eventually get to play.....

They could have those type of games "listed". But there shouldn't be any kind of forums or reporting on tem unless they enter a phase of development where it's really clear that they are coming out..

Darkfall has yet to even begin to approach a phase like that after 7 years.

hey i got an idea, lets wipe out all christians on the planet! They say there is a god, and in the past they have committed genocide over this god making humanity look bad, and all they have to show that god exists is a book and a handful of unverified miracles!

(i by no means am posting this do degrade or pay out christianity. I am using sarcasm.)

If you dont think a handful of videos, countless pictures and Dev journals are enough, not to mention a reputable staff member amonst their ranks, i don't know what will convince you. DONT play the "DF has been in development for 7-9 years" card because Darkfall got taken over from RazorWax by Aventurine. They then went and overhauled EVERYTHING! A FRESH START! so, that makes development time only really about 4 YEARS!!! F**k me if expect a small time company to produce a REVOLUTIONARY MMO in the space of 4 years. I mean seriously, thats roughly the same a AoC, HOWEVER, AoC have decided to rush things and are spewing out and unfinished product.

MMO's need to be rid of deadlines. The one thing that causes all these cry's of  "Vapor Ware" is the fact that DF has NO deadline and a well capable of funding themselves.

Just throwing my opinion in here:

This game isn't going to come out, and it is widely believed that it isn't. Mention Darkfall anywhere else, and you will get the response of "vaporware". This would be because of how long this game has taken to develop- so far. Even if they release the game today or ten years from now, its just going to die at this point due to age so the disappointment will remain and the game will vanish just the same.

There was a beta announced in 2003? Did anybody get in, and have proof of that? If not, I'm willing to say that the OP might have been on to something when they were talking about this being a scam or study. Given enough money I imagine I could make it seem like I was developing an MMO too.

Why am I here? Because of all the comments about Darkfall being vaporware. I was curious to look in here, and I am honestly surprised people think this will come out. But hey, I don't suppose there's any harm leaving the forums up although it isn't fair to games like Rappelz when Darkfall is the one with an easily accessed forum.
