If people can bot up the levels, it's only a matter of time before people have maxed all classes (far less time than a traditional MMO).  What then?  What keeps people from getting there, getting bored, and moving on?

That's an honest question - those of you with experience with the game - have they addressed that?  Is there something to deal with it?  Is the answer "PvP and RvR"?  Or is there more to it?

What keeps that from happening is basically, hte insane amount of time needed to lvl, at high lvls.

Late 40s you take 2 days non-stop bot same lvl mobs to get 1 level up.

Imagine at lvl 60-70... still, isnt that far out, my guess, and can be done.

Now, what is waiting for you end game:

RvR (cant say how good/bad it is, havent tryed it, not sure anyone even tryed it...)

Then... you can "grow" your weapon. Growing a weapon is similar to getting a weapon from (+1) to (+2) and so on, from other games, incase you know. But this time, you might just lose the weapon all togheter if you fail. So, you have to farm for mats/gold, or just buy mats/gold from the game "Mall" (by real $) and try over and over.

Slightly over 1 week played, cant see anything else to do late game... except camp neutral maps and kill enemy bots, but i guess that will become old very fast.

I logged onto the game for about 5 minutes. I noted....Point and click movement controls....and no zoom control to be able to see closer to you character.I stopped playing when I experienced these two things.

Hmm so you are saying that the ingame bot thingy is a good thing because everyone can lvl 24/7 and not only the hardcore players, right? Well why dont they just remove the leveling feature all together? i mean seriously, why bother having the community rech the leveling cap is all that it takes is adjusting your bot once a day or so and then just leaving it on to do the rest? Let everyone start with a max lvl char and then...what?

Really eally weird for me this whole thing actually. I played L2 on and off for a few years and sure, the grindfest is horrible, and alot of people bot their chars to ever reach  lvl cap indeed, still that is far better than just knowing that lvls mean absolutely nothing.. I mean, whats the satisfaction of being a high lvl char among everyone else?

For me any game that incorperates a level-feature into it has a certain element of "lvl competition" to it. Or a goal that will be there alongside with questing/pvp/itemfarming whatever. The one thing that in the end ruined L2 for me was that i downloaded and set up a private server (for my own personal use only) and then created some max lvl chars with all the best items etc, since then I never logged into L2 again. Tos um it up, what kept me going in L2 was the same thing that annoed me, reaching that glorias lvl cap and "perfecting" my character. If I could do that with a program and I knew everyone else was doing it aswell, well I just lvl it up and then stop playing once I reached the lvl cap I guess.

Long rant about nothing maybee, wasnt trying to provoke anything, just my thoughts about that feature.

The thing is as your post mentions grinding. Almost every game I've played (And thats alot) when you get to lvl 20 -30 the amount of grinding is a real turn off! The Bot lets you avoid the worst grinding, while still needing to play live for quests , PvP, roleplaying etc.  The amount of games people have quit after starting only to have to grind 24/7 to lvl up is massive. This game lets you avoid the grind while still being enjoyable to play.
