Beta keys will be given out at random times during the day to fileplanet subscribers. But you gotta be online and keep hitting refresh on the beta page. (or get comrade). Ok, fine. I'd be willing to do that. But the times that they are giving out beta keys are so unrealistic for people who don't reside in the US. I'm living in Ireland and at the moment we're 8 hours ahead of PST. So basically i may have to wait up until the early hours of tomorrow morning if i want to get into beta. Even though i'm a fileplanet subscriber like all of the applicants from the US. They could at least release some keys at more EU friendly times. They are an EU developer after all. And at the risk of sounding like a spoiled child, i will say this. IT'S SOOOOOO UNFAIR!!!! |

Having Comrade won't help. It only does the same thing an e-mail does: notifies you there are keys available. Unless you plan to sit all day watching Comrade, you won't get anywhere with it. I just got an e-mail saying to come get my key. Surprise, no key waiting. I knew there'd be some screw-up on Fileplanets' end. They should just be sending keys out with those e-mails, or reserving the keys for when you reply, not wasting my e-mail space just so I can be told no more keys, come back later. |

I'm in Ireland too OP, I just count myself very lucky that I visited Fileplanet when I did last night. Good luck trying to get a key, it will be hit and miss for lots I think. |

Originally posted by ZorvanI never even got an email so it's more disappointing. Had I not noticed an article here, I wouldn't have ever known any have started to go out.
Other than PST does anyone have the 'schedule' of what keys are going out? Being EST I can hang my PC around easier than some of the EU folks but it would be nice to have SOME inkling as to when to look.

Not sure about any schedule. As far as i know you literally gotta sit and watch your comp, hitting refresh every few mins. Words cant describe how rtarded this is. I've resorted to lettting comrade run in the background. And i downloaded a really loud and annoying .wav sound so it plays when i get an instant message. Hopefully it wakes me up at like 4am when the keys go out. Grrrr. I really hope this isn't an example of the service that Funcom provides in the future. Bah!.....ok i'm over it. |

Originally posted by GazMcWell, the service issue is Fileplanets', not Funcoms'. i am not enthused about Funcoms' choice of using Fileplanets, however. The main thing that pisses me off is that the keys are supposedly given out daily according to PST. Since I live in a PST zone, I find it stupid that both lots of keys were handed out by 4a.m. PST of 4/24/08 (it is now 7:05a.m. PST 4/24/08). This means that you have to be up at midnight PST to have a chance at getting a key if this is the schedule they stick to.

Woohoo just got mine, install gamespy comrade and you get told when the new keys are in, so you don't have to stare at your browser constantly refreshing :) I live in the UK and got the 3.00 pm batch so not unfair really. |

If you rely on the email alert, you WILL miss out, so I suggest using the Comrade for instant notification. Hope this helps. |

Ok i just got a key...still think its a stupid way of doing things. But my waiting has paid off. 3pm batch time so maybe they are taking into account EU customers too. Im sorry.... |

Have you even used comrade?, It makes a ping noise when you get notified, like MSN messenger you don't need to stare at it. I was playing a game when it did it for me. |

i would love to play the beta but im not sweating it, i played the pvp beta. and i got a friend who got a key the other day. so i can just leech off his info on how it is. but im getting it anyways, im a major conan fan and from what I have read and experienced so far its a sealed deal for me. im getting the CE version. but i gotta admit and agree this is a majort hit or miss for alot of people. you have to sit on your comp practically all day,. im not doing that. im not that hard up to play the game. i can always play the 3 day early access. 3.4ghz Phenom II X4 965, 8GB PC12800 DDR3 GSKILL, EVGA 285 GTX 1GB, 640GB HD SATA II, BFG 1000WATT PSU.
