"Among the lucky you are the Chosen One" -Fortune Cookie

I know this topic was discussed before but I can't seem to find it. Anyways I was reading up on Warhammer lore because I have never played the TT or games. Well, I came across the White Lions because everyone is guessing that they are the new pet class. Well in reading about them, they actually kill the lions in close combat and wear their pelts. So my question is how would Mythic (if they are using them) would turn White Lions into a pet class? Again I apologize for bringing this topic back up again.

in the tabletop game the white lions are an elite combat force, not a pet class. They do have the white lion chariots. This could give reason to turn them into a pet class  (aka domestication) since they are pulling the chariots. On the flip side high elves already have thier "tank or combat" type class. We'll see! :-)

I'd see them either way! :-)

Will pet classes be gimped in PvP like most pet classes in MMOs?  A super-duper pet is great but not of much use when your enemy ignores it and directly attacks you.

Last I heard when they spoke about pet classes the pet stays alive after you kill the owner..so I consider that viable lol  There's a pvp video of the squig herder he's pretty kick ass with those ranged attacks.

I can't recall where I heard it from, possibly new army book.

Anyhow, White lions will kill the adult white lion, and take the offspring back and care for it, thus leading to them having trained creatures for the White lion chariots and whatnot. Wouldn't be a far stretch of the imagination to think that a few White Lion's might come to look at their animal companion as more family then animal, being Elven and all.

Well that makes a lot of sense in a morbid kind of way. "Hey I killed your mommy to prove I'm not a wussy elf lets be friends!" Its kinda funny logic but works for me. Depending on how they play I'm still torn between Blackguard/Shadow Warrior and now possibly White Lion, if they are the 4th class.

LOL X2 (seriously, my wife looked at me like I was nuts and then read it and LOL'ed too, gj.)

I think it would be a killer idea as I didn't think there was another pet class on the order side, maybe I've misread? melee pet class. This I like.

True story! White Lions will kill the mother and capture the cub to raise as his own. (I doubt you will do this in game, rather just given a white lion cub at rank 1). The white lion's lion becomes more than a pet because of this, more like an ally/best friend. Creates a cool concept compared to the "find a pet, tame it" bore. I'm all for it.

thats because in most games you have a pet to help you pve and you are a ranged class. white lion is going to be a melee class. so its pick your poison.. kill the pet or fight a tank, both are going to deal damage to you.

DAoC had a class called hunter. it was a shooter class that was melee oriented and had a pet. when in melee combat your pet did damage to your target and this supplimented your damage output.
Hmm let me put it in wow words so people will understand. think of white lion as an enhancement shaman (minus the spells) that is using an earth elemental totem thats on all the time.

expect the pet to have back stab ability and damage over time claw attacks. I would also expect "team"attacks. like having a special attack that is only active if target is bleeding.... but the only way to make target bleed is by using the pet.

light armor with high damage output and a pet as your "offhand weapon" type damge
