Spmething like finished mmorpg do not exist... every big game today had some kind of problems at start, and if we survived Hellgate start when game was practicly unplayable becasue of unstable engine we wont have any problems with game that is prety much finished have all core features and is more or less stable.

As for class balancing, something like that do not exist. It can only exist if everyone will play exacly the same character. At best you can make certian clases beter against some other certian clases. even games that are 4-5 years after lauch still do extensive class balance changes.

As for today AoC is very promising and will have good smoth lauch for a game with fresh new engine (lotr is using engine developed since Ac2 for years and tested in 2 games + experianced devs with the tools) thats way lotr beta was so polished and stable. Nothing is w/o a reason in life

It was scheduled for release in October, 2007, then got pushed back to February, 2008,  then to May, 2008.

I havent played beta, but, i will still buy this game after all. Why not.....worse case scenario, its back to WoW. If wow fails, there is always my real life. If that fails, there is always youtube.

After the anemic launch of Tabula Rasa and the recent closing of PotBS servers, the MMORPG industry could sorely use a solid release.      Let's see if Funcom can help pull out the year from being a repeat of 2007. 

All game start out a bit rough and get fixed through patches, but I am excited that the game is going to be released on May 20th

Because they have an agenda to try and reduce its hype. MMOs dont really life of adds, their success is created by word of mouth among players so some people seriously try to badmouth a product in order to promote another game they either are fans of or have a financial interest in.

Good of luck to AoC and fans, but I personaly will wait until Christmas and see how game going, I don't look to play for 1 month, but for 1 yeahr minimum :D

i still wounder why alot of the trolls and nay sayers always get the beta keys... make me die inside :(

AoC fans (whatever that means) have no say on the release date of the product. Only the developers and their management can make that decision.

I believe we understood that you don't like the game some 100 posts ago. You're entitled to your opinion. Good luck to whatever else you choose to play, if you're actually playing anything.

They still have a month of polish and then the game will have to float on it's own, regardless of what fans or naysayers will say.

Hopefully now that whatever legal issue are set in stone (or Gold if you prefer) they can make the announcement regarding Open Beta.

erm. as far as im aware they already have,

'Open' beta starts on 1st of May... to the first 50,000 people with active fileplanet subscriptions to click a button on the website. :/

I understand though that betas of anyform are there for testing, and not to give us previews.

so not that bothered. have my Rhino mount pre-ordered lol

Gone gold before it is released... LOL!

I will wait until it goes STABLE and then I might try it out. Apart from that I have high expectations from this one and I wish them luck... but GOLD before release....
