i wonder. How many subscribers will AOC have? Please give your educated guess ( please try to be realistic and also specify at what phase you are referring - at start, a year ahead, 2 years etc). Does any has real numbers from other games, so we can compare?

"We''re not making a game for Trekkies" Daron Stinnett, Perpetual Entertainment

Initial sales don't matter.

What matters is how many CONCURRENT subscribers AoC has in six months, twelve months, 18 months, 24 months, etc.

If you have 500,000 out the gate but come October 450,000 of those leave to go play WAR, the 500,000 doesn't matter.  In the MMOG field, what matters is CONCURRENT and SUSTAINED subscribers.

Keep an eye on this webpage.  The do a great job of tracking concurrent subscription numbers for games.

AoC may have gone gold, but the game has no longevity. Leveling is more linear than WoW, it's basically a console game (even past Tortage/lvl20).

Hype and 'promises' from the FC team may have brought them initial sales, but they wont keep the subs unless they have a HUGE HUGE HUGE content patch wtihin the first 2 months.

I call BS, if indeed this game "has no longevity" tells us your reason why other then a so called opinion from someone who probably is not in beta.... Give us some examples or just continue to troll.

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith

i figure they may have 200k at the initial release rush and i figure after a few months it'll be around 150k which is great for an mmo these days.
