i did the can you play it thing, and it said i met min reqs, but failed to meet recommened specs.  The only thing it told me I didnt meet was the operatings system. I run Windows 2.11, j/k. I still use xp as I wasnt thrilled about vista.

Have things changed and we now need to run vista?  I think i have a copy of vista 32 bit that came with my comp, but im really hesitant to pull it out unless it will really benefit me in Aoc.

You don't need to run vista. But if you have  a DirectX 10 graphic card it would benefit you since AoC supports DirectX 10. If you don't have  a card that supports dx10  there is no advantage to use Vista.

Why is that?

Too op yes the rec specs is for vista as it can run on dx10 but also, yes vista was not and on some levels not ready but it still is the future,A MMo is not a 4 week game and you are finished,so yes they recommend vista for this game,

Was it not optimized for 64-bit systems?

I don't think it was=)

Is just the OP said he/she had vista 32 bit with the pc,So why should they go and buy/upgrade to 64 bit?

I have no idea if it was optimized for 64-bit(I havent seen that)I was merley pointing out that they failed as they recommend vista and no-where does it say 64-bit,I passed easily with 32-bit.

Vista is slow anyway you look at it so putting it in 32 bit is going to still be slow. To go with vista for the dx10 you  would want the 64bit for the spped, also that would allow you over 4 gigs of memeory.

Not only that, but you can shut down all of Vista's system hogging when you run a game full-screen. It's not hard to do, it's basically an "I-WIN" button for bitch-slapping vista's greediness.

And the reason AoC says "we recommend vista" is because Microsoft was probably like "hay guyz! i has paychek!"

Yes but 1 thing not everyone would have the cash to upgrade to 64 bit and also get all new ram,not to mention not everyone's board supports over 4 gb,this game will run fine on a system with 32-bit,I dont see the need to upgrade just for the sake of it.

Yea ofc you pass with 32-bit, 64-bit would just be better if the game was supporting 64-bit, wich I don't think it does. (you can still play it with 64-bit)
