Thanks for the tip, I'll look into it! How much of a difference will it make? Seems like 10k RPM drives are really expensive.

it's worth it. I noticed a HUGE difference in speed when I went to the 10k.

Nice choice for a graphics card...Sapphire ROCKS.

you are fine with that config.

10k rpm isnt that necessary altough the game is BIG and loads ALOT so it will make a difference.

yea they can be,however it is the amount of transfer rate and transfer speed they give is what will boost.

look at the specs with a 7200 and a 10k rpm drive, you might even be able to drop down on the size sightly to  get the price range your looking for.

good luck and have a blast.

Ok so I found one, but it's a lot more expensive than 7200 RPM. 7200 Was only $60 whereas the 10k is $160 and 100 less GBs =/

8800GT and E8400. If your on more of a budget then get a E6750 ($160~ where I am). Also get a P35/ICH9 chipset.

I have been a supporter of AMD for some time now but they are just sucking now (I replaced my 5200 for a E8400 2 weeks ago)... As for ATI I'm not sure what to suspect from them but NVidia is a better choice for price:performance ratio.

Also getting a 10Krpm drive wont have effects on FPS, just load times. Another thing I would recommend is getting 2GBs of RAM and not 4 and use the extra cash for a better CPU (E8300/E8400).

On further note, 5200+ will bottleneck your system if you try to run AoC on max settings.

Forgot to add, get a good motherboard! The 1 thing you shouldn't cheap out on. Good chipset = longer life-time.

Yea Intel is probably better if money isn't an issue, but in my case it is =/. The system you suggest / describe I am doubting would be less than 800, or less than 1000 for that matter. Intel Duo Core processors are way more expensive than the same speed of AMD, as i can get a duel AMD 3.2ghz for about the same price as an intel 2.6.

I might just get the 6400+ AMD and spend $50 more dollars on the processor rather than change up my whole scheme.

The best way to know if you can run AoC is to go here and select AoC from the pull down list.
