Can someone link me to the cheapest possible PC that can run AoC at least in mid settings smoothly in PvE and PvP?  I am looking for my self but I want to see if anyone can find better deals. Thanks.

SCIENCE PROVES CAPS LOCK CAN CURE CANCER.

I've been doing some research myself. This game has given me a blow to the head and is definitely a message that my computer is getting too old.  I was accepted for the PvP weekend, and could barely download the game. It took about several attempts to get into the game for the first time because it would constantly shut itself down, simply because it was just too much, but eventually I got to play at the lowest settings (and it was still pretty damn good!).

I looked through various computer software / PC companies in the US (assuming you are from the US) and found a good amount of very great PCs at affordable prices but don't expect them to be spectacular... in otherwords, playing this game on a medium and if possible high setting. When I say affordable, I mean $1,000 rigs... you will not find a computer worth $350 dollars that can play this game, sadly, unless you build upon it yourself, which really isn't too hard if you are up for it.

I found through different companies that the Dell computers are definitely offering a lot at a pretty good price. The Dell XPS 420 Desktop alone will probably allow you to play the game at decent settings. You can find it at Dell's main site.

I myself am going to go my own route and attempt to build my own computer. Simply because you can build a much better computer for the same price, if not cheaper. I've got myself a possible rig being A LOT cheaper, around $750 bucks with specs of a $2000 rig. It requires a bit of research though and some general computer knowledge, yet is a lot simpler than people would think. For this I would try googling Newegg. The people at that site provide general knowledge about computers and parts, and I found that place extremely useful in making a decision on whether to just go ahead and simply buy a new comp or try a new, fun, affordable project.

If you know anything about Computers at all (hardware wise) or can just read directions you can find on the internet just build one yourself.. That would be the cheapest route.

You can also buy a barebones system which is the the backbone basicly (motherboard, cpu chip, Case, Power supply, cooling system) from off of Ebay, check out the computer stores they got there.. I think I paid like 400 dollars or so for mines a year ago. Barebones systems come already put together,  then you can hit up a site like New Egg and get the rest of the stuff (Vid Card, Sound card,  Ram) which is easy as hell to install (seriously a monkey could do it).  You can do all of that or you could just hit up New Egg and buy everything from scratch, your just going ot have to put it all together.

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith

I am actualy thinking of building my own now since I seen how cheap it can be but I am very new to it.

Yeah, that's why I suggest(ed) searching around a bit to get a general knowledge of how everything works. It seems like it would be difficult at first but actually I'm finding with various instruction sites that it's very simple. Most of the supplies you would buy come with detailed instructions in installing them in the first place, while I believe most modern computer cases will come with a full computer creation guide. Even if these things expect you to know how, like I've already mentioned, it's very easy to find out. Basically all you really need to know is exactly what each component of the computer is, what they do, and how they are measured in power, so you know which to buy for the best price and quality. At least that is a smart way to start if you are looking into that.

~Somewhere in time~

I would recommend something like this:

CPU: Athlon X2 5000+
GPU: Nvidia 9600GT 512Mb/ATI Radeon HD38X0 512 Mb
Memory: DDR2 2 Gb
MBO: Something cheap if you dont have the money or a MBO with SLI/Crossfire support depending on which GPU you choose if you have extra money. Also check if MBO supports Athlon X2 CPU.
OS: Pirated

I know C2D are better then Athlons X2, but X2s are cheaper so you can save some money here.

Also I think you will get more performance for buck solution if you decide for ATI.

Something like that would be a cheap PC and you could probably run AoC on high with that.

yeah, I've been looking at some of the stats over at Futuremark, and it seems the ATI HD38X0 is stomping Nvidia into the ground.
