if u want alpha classes or skill based system go to the game that offer it, screw 100% skill based tbh. Just because a game doesnt have the stuff u want it to have then why are u still here?

Really? The duo 1.8 processor and not the vid card? Really? Damn I would have to buy a new MB also them since its max is 667 ram...sigh new ram also....?Wait my conroe 1333/d667 motherboard says it can take core2 duo extreme proccesor...could i just get that and be good? I think FC should sue every single parent that tries to sue them, and have those parents have their kids taken away, and possibly fined/thrown in jail.. for allowing their kids to access a mature rated game and for being clueless about parenting and expecting the state to do it for them.

AoC won't be a Vanguard level failure, but it will be a bust in my opinion.

Its technical problems are at least as bad as Vanguard's were and its "revolutionary combat"  is just 3 buttons for basic attacks instead of one. 

However, it won't be a Vanguard type failure for one reason:  the kiddies need their gore and nipples.  Nipples will sell as many boxes to lonely teens as the Conan license will pull in.

First of all i played Vanguard beta and post release. After just the beta weekend I would not even compare this game to the disaster that was VG.

As far the M rating, the blood, gore, nudity and bad language ect. You can see much much worse on the internet for free so if you are a parent and your kid has a pc with an internet connection that you don't monitor or restrict then you are an idiot. It not Funcom's or anyone elses job to babysit your kids sorry. I only wish the M rating would keep all the kids out of this game but I already know that won't be the case.

what technical problems are you referring to?  NDA is still in effect for the technical/general beta's so i doubt there is any valid information released about the so called "technical" problems you talk about.

PVP beta weekend may have problems which i have no idea about as i was not involved but one thing that has been stated that the PVP beta was an older build than what is currently about.  Issue with that build may have already been fixed only time will tell

From what I experienced this weekend, definitely doesn't have a VG feel to it.  We'll have to wait and see how it all pans out though once the game is released.

For me AOC is not another Vanguard. I had fun in Vanguard but ended up frustated with bugs, so i left. In AOC bugs are not gamebreaking but i cant find the fun factor.

That dosent even make sence why would they be trying to balance there classes based on a old client build when there 1 month away from release You would think that if they had a better client build than thats the one they would have used this close to release If they had a better client build than the one they showed this weekend than it would have already been tested enough by the people in general beta that the classes wouldnt have been so unbalanced.  this whole thing just seems like one big smoke screen

 

 

There's something wrong with the punctuation keys on your keyboard.

It makes sense if they're not testing that particualr element of the game and they don't want  everyone to download a larger client. 

It could be that they promote different structures to the new client only after they satisfactorly complete a beta test and this is what the weekend was for.

What is the point of the smok,e screen that your conspiracy theory suggests?  Maybe this is Raul Castro's devious plot to distract the masses while China moves nuclear weapons into Cuba.  That makes 'sence'.

I will say this.

No, I don't think any game could ever achieve the massive level of failure that Vanguard had, but that's also because Funcom hasn't gone running around hyping their game up nearly as much as a certain Mr. McQuaid did.

In my opinion, the game should be delayed a little bit longer for optimization and tweaking, but I will say I was satisfied with performance, especially in comparison to Vanguard. Whether they release on time or not, I'm not certain, but I feel that whichever decision they make will be a fine one.

On a side note, the best advice I'll give; don't buy into the hype. Not yet. It's a good game, I think it's a fun game, but I don't believe it's going to revolutionize the genre either.

I thought the game ran very well.  Much better then Vanguard at release of course we only saw a tiny sliver of it so this isn't be far certain.  I saw a few graphic glitchs but nothing too bad and graphic performance was excellent even in a lobby area full of players.  Good detail good graphics none of this show 5 characters in good graphics and show the rest as blobs and there were no hitching issues.  All in all quite good.

That said there was one potential HUGE problem that I saw.  This was either network or server lag.  This could be huge because it makes me think back to AO as AO had the same issues.  And while the PvP beta was a nice sample of the game keep in mind it was highly instanced.  The starting area was only solo, the lobby didn't seem to have more then 15 people at any time, and the pvp instances had maybe 12 or so players with no mobs all static.  In spite of this there were numberous issues I saw with delays on server responses being as much as 6-7 seconds during which time I could not fight or after which mobs would pop on top of me or I'd be half dead before I had a chance to fight.

This reminds me of AO when you wanted to go to those teleport things and the server lag became measured in minutes for an update....  Call me nervous but hopeful that they can fix it.

Why are peopel freezing and becoming invunerable? Map glitches are the worst. Why do you go to the login screen when you /camp out? Please tell me the (CUT) scenes someone was raving about how much they loved are bypassable !  Watching that crap puts me to sleep.

Is this another vanguard? I would rather wait another few months for release if it is. Thank god I know better than to cancel my subscriptions I currently have.  Don't get me wrong, I hope like hell after spending 90 odd dollars that this game rocks, but it certainly seems like another game is being put out to early like the last mesiah was.

 

People have moved on in a year and updated their pc since the early days of vanguard. If you don't believe me then go to the forums and get a free buddy key ,they are always being handed out. They have a ffa pvp server which still need some features but its still great fun and the world is vast compared to all mmorpg out their except DNL.

On the pvp server you have till level 7 to get to know the game then after that you are flagged for pvp. Like AOC you need a good pc to play vanguard , at least 2gig and a 7 series graphic card with core duo but single core will do.

Make no mistake AOC will be just as buggy as vanguard was at release and in some ways you will be playing a beta but paying for it. If you don't mind that then fine but  has FC got the sort of money SOE has to hang out for a year trying to put the game right?
