... no, really I do.

One weekend getting spoon fed PvP in controlled and limited environment and dozens of posts crop up with labels like "best game ever!".

Right, yes, of course it is, and advertisement that this weekend PvP was has nothing with building up the hype.

The game might or might not be as good as PvP weekend (and even that one had some issues) but at any rate this limited experience is hardly a measure for the whole product. Promo events like this usually present the best segment of the game and to honest what info I got on other pieces is none that grand.

I prefer to hear argumented naysayers becasue fans will give me the spin on the official hype jingle. Yes, I like to hear both sides of the story since I doubt that any product comming out these days can be ZOMFG amazing.

Wait until the game releases and you try more then battle ground style, semi twich combat and single player linear intro. Judging by received information I don't beleive the game is going to be the next generation of amazing, I also don't beleive it will be new VG. I do think that the game will get a large number of creeps due to gore and nudity content.

Wait and see, flame on if you will, I don't plan to respond:)

To live free is worth dying for.

The game is "shiney" but very much IMHO felt guildwars-esque.  Only way I personally can describe how it felt to me.   The depth of the game from what small window we were granted is not there... I just didn't "feel it".

Sure when things were running smooth it was all crazy wild and fun, but honestly they focused on THIS one aspect of the game to show the yearning masses, and it was such a small slice it makes me wonder not "what else is there" in a I wanna know way, but "Why didn't I get to see more?  What's missing?"   sort of way.

I have HOPES this game does well, anything to pull the market from the WOW path it's taking, WAR is next up to beat back the wow gameplay (I'll admit I have that one CE Pre-orderedx2) but still...

I'm gonna wait on this one, maybe get it on it's native target platform, the 360.

Why start and discussion in an discussion forum if you do not plan on responding? Anyhow let me first state that I have not beta tested the game, not closed beta and not the PvP weekend. I do slightly agree with the OP that the game can not be judged on one weekend of PvP and it surly can not be classified as "game of the year". I do however believe that the PvP weekend give a good indication of how the game will feel when released especialy so close to release and considering PvP will be a vital part of the game for many players.

Also I disagree that there will be a large amount of creeps (Well not becouse of the nudity atleast ;)), becouse I really doubt people would somewhat be interested in staring at virtual boobs and this is being pulled out of content. I am happy Funcom does this instead (Not the boobs per say, but the gore) of nerving there games so it has a lower rating like many MMO's do.

However the nudity might attract some immature people true, but nothing more or less then those people dancing around in underwear in games like Guild Wars, WoW, etc. Anyway if you see an female character running around without an top you can be pretty sure it is an male gamer...so the nudity does have pro's :P

You want negative and naysayers? You have come to the mothership sir.   Enjoy.  I've never seen such a bitter negative group as the general pop. of the posters on this site.

Edit:  Especially the SWG "veterans".  Holy crap.  You'd think it was their girlfriend of 5 years that left them for their best friend, got married and had a kid or two.

@OP: Yes, and as always there is also viral marketing fueling the fanbois. You know FC's people are also posting in these threads, don't you?.

I have the same scary questions and hopes for the game as the above posters. I really have high hopes for this game.

It was a PvP BETA TEST.....in the interest of balance issues, and the like.

You were "shown" this part because that's what needed to be tested.

It was not a demo. It was not for the public's benefit. It was a test designed to gather information on a specific part of the game's mechanics, nothing more.

99% of the game remains unseen at this point, and all we have to go on is advertised features, DEV posts and interviews, etc.

When the game is unveiled....then we shall see. Until then it's all pointless speculation and rumors.

I don't hate the game.  I wish it well, I just think that it's going to be animal of a far different stripe then people have... been led to believe.

And that is for them to decide to like or not.  I for one was dubious from day one of all the grandiose promises, and my first real hands on time with game hasn't changed that.  It might just ROCK the SOCKS off some folks and more power to them.
