OK, so being an old PSO player back on DC when it first started out online, I liked PSO alot and thought it was a great game. My brother and I heard about PSU and more specifically the PSU:AotI expansion and decided we would give it a shot. So we bought 2 copies booted um up and made online accounts. We have been playing for 4 days now. I must say that I am very surprised how fun the game is and alot like PSO just with better game mechanics. Here is my major concern. Sega Team and Sega in general do not have the greatest track records with keeping a games servers up and running which is evident with PSOBB servers going down in March of 08. So the real question is how much time do you all think PSU has left and is it doomed to suffer a PSOBB/Earth&Beyond shutdown in the near future. I can remember playing Earth and Beyond from beta to shut down only to have EA give the message noone wanted to hear.... all the hard work you have invested into a game is now going to the trash can.... sorry hope you had fun... we're out!!! So what is everyones take on the longevity of PSU? |

It's difficult to say, since this time Sega releases new expansion so so it can keep adding and unlocking new content on the game. We will just have to wait and see how people react to that, if they come back to check it out etc.

Well we still have at least 4 more years of continued support, as stated by Sega. As for when these 4 years are up, the servers will remain up for some time after that, like with PSOBB servers (that are going down in March) or the Xbox PSO servers, that are still up but locked in a perpetual Christmas. |

Well, the servers are still up. The expansion has really improved the game, and the event this Friday (4/25) should help to attract new people to the servers. |
