Our characters are GONE.

These are old accounts, ,like from LAUNCH, we hadn't played in a while and thought.. why not.

But we have no characters... their... gone.   Nothing I have read says this should be so.  Anyone know what's up with that?

I find it impossible to delete your character by COH staff. Are you sure that you didn't delete your characters?

We JUST logged in for the 14 day trial and had put a LOT of time and thought in to our characters.  We KNOW we didn't delete them, and my wife was quite attached to her dark/dark healer.

They're all just not there.

Hmmm... can trial accounts even be applied to old accounts? Usually trial accounts are seperate... Never done that myself so I have no idea.

Well their website says it works for both... if it's a "Trial" and that means that we can't use our old toons but they still exist... aces.... but it's kinda silly not to let us play our old friends. 

You should try asking COH staff, or look in FAQ.

There is difference server/clients between the European version and the US version. You sure you have actual logged into the correct one?

What you will notice is you now have 2 accounts, 1 is your old accounts, the other is the trials. You CAN apply trial keys to existing COH accounts, BUT it just creates new accounts, rather than turn on the old ones. Dont worry your accounts arent gone, log into account management, goto manage games, you will magically see two COH accounts, you can click each to determine the new from the old.

If you want to reactivate both and get an extra 15 days I PMed you this message as well with two referal codes, it will give you 15 extra days when you pay for 30 to reactivate.

It used to be that you could "upgrade" a heroes-only account with a villains (or both sides) trial and therein get trial time on an old account. I don't know if it still works, or if it's what you attempted to do even. Regardless, it was never the officially proper way to use a trial, more of an account glitch that worked.

As a result, I'd be very amused to see what the rep says. $5 says you get a cut-and-paste reply saying something like "Welcome to the City of Heroes trial. When your 14 days are expired, you can purchase the game to continue adventuring with the characters you've created."

Anyway, I figure it's one of two situations:

1) You actually made a 2nd game account with the trial code. If you didn't specifically select "upgrade" (and I note you didn't use that word) and instead just entered the code, your NCSoft account now has 2 Game accounts - retail and trial. Go to account management and see the details they list there, verifying the start date, etc.

2) You actually did upgrade, and it worked just like you wanted it to, but your characters actually were missing. This is rare, but possible - I think as a result of shuffling information around in the storage arrays. It can resolve itself in a day, or the rep can do so for you.

I'm still betting on case 1) though. Using a trial code makes you a trial account unless you speficially picked "upgrade."

Well after some careful finagaling and boosting my ego for the lashing it will now take...

We have 3 Play NC accounts, 2 are active one is dead.. old CoH Beta and Preorder account that I had FORGOTTEN the password too and it had two accounts on it that I 14 day trial upgraded.

Yeah, when the wife figured out what I had done, she was not impressed, I fixed it all and it appears both of our accounts do in fact still exist, with our characters JUST as we left them.

We'll give CoX a whirl and maybe reup for a month.  See if we are into it or not.   We miss the game.. but.
