PvP weekend been nice overall. Of course there are the beta bugs and so on but otherwise its been great. Only thing I need to warn ppl about tho, you cannot play this game with a mid or low level system. Its about unplayable. I tried it on 3 diff comps, and only my high end comp could run it nice.

Otherwise, GO AOC!

That's sad to hear. Not even playable on lowest settings? I don't really care how it looks I just want to play the game lol. Otherwise I'll have to wait for 360 version =/

for fun i threw it on my gfs 2,4pent with 2 gig ram and a 2600 radeon card in. could hardly move the char.

I would say dual core is a must with atleast 2 gig and a good vid card.

True Love Never Dies

The copy of AoC they gave you was infact a closed-beta stage version of the game with tweaks and fixes relating to PVP and the PVP mini-games, so although it may still be true on may 17th that a low-medium end system will have trouble running this game, it is hardly a reasonable thing to state as fact. Almost all of the fixes will be active on may 17th and should relieve a lot of the workload stress it causes for your machines.

Understood that the beta client may not yet be fully optimised blah blah blah,

Still I want to know the OP's situation.  What is the config of the machine of yours that runs AoC smoothly.  And how smoothly.  Which display card, how much RAM, XP or Vista ...

Can you elaborate a bit please.  i am building my new rig for AoC, I am figuring out what CPU and what display card.  I am settling for XP and so its 2G or 4G (which only means 3G under XP).

you say some true things there, but if you consider the buildup of the game and the graphics, low end machines in the req spec is kind of gone already. the req spec is there so they can get more sales, sure, can prolly play with the low spec, but you wont be able to compete in pvp and such against other players as you will be lagging all over. Mid range machines should prolly do decently with a lot of the nice graphs turned off.

but if you want to play this game as its ment, with all the benefits of a gaming experience, you will need the high end system.

As with any other game, but a big part won't be able to play the said game on high.

I agree though.

Edit: I meant that all games are meant to be played on high (not that all games require high end pc).

just to offset the results of the OP, I ran this on a 3100+ AMD sempron, 1.5gb ram and a x1300 and never dropped below 10fps in the PvP events and it was playable at that (even had 6 kills in one annilation match with my guardian).

Yah, it isn't great, but hell look at the video card.

I have to disagree with the OP on this I am using a 2 year old pc and I was able to run this beta just fine. I did have to turn down the graphics a bit but this game scales pretty nice so that the game still looks fine even on low settings. In pvp with alot going on my fps was around 20 but it was very playable and still pretty smooth. You have to be really carefull taking other peoples word for what machine will run a game. Unless your machine is really a museum piece I think it's worth giving it a try. Some people just aren't happy unless they get 100fps on max settings with not a single glitch. Fortunately I'm not one of them which is good since I don't want to buy a new pc every year.

Yea I too played on a medium level pc and I had a performance that was just fine. No stutters or lag. Of course I didn't try to play at max res or graffics but thats because I know the limits of my machine. I know that having a lower end pc I have to play at lower settings and that is fine with me. Lowered the settings and the game ran fine and was enjoyable and thats all that mattered to me.
