So, just going to gold farmers or addons are not the ONLY way to get a trojan keylogger. It wasn't the OP fault as you yourself can not pinpoint the cause of how he got the trojan.

In case u dont know MR iplaywithoutaddonsleetzors, in End Game guilds such as mine, u're obligated to have atleast 3 essential addons. to manage your aggro mostly. my performance in a raid must be maximized in all ways, and well normally add-ons are necessary for it.

btw my trojan came from P2P.

Yeah, you NEED programs, you choose to put them on to make the game EASIER for you.   I've raided, look my gnome up Veldaren, perenolde.  

 

 

So anyway, everyone of my friends that got a keylogger, got it from those "neccassary add ons to raid". 

 

Way to go noobs.  I still play like back in the day, EQ old school, no aggro meters, you played with skill, not based on a bar that TOLD you what was going on.

 

 

 

On the bright side...Well... at least EQ is a better game now :P

 

But seriously you cannot really raid seriously with at least certain addons. If you try to argue with that you're clueless, I'm sorry.

You CAN raid, you just get harrassed constantly by the gamers taht cannot play the game without crutches.  OMG what is your aggro, I don't know what to do!!!!

 

Out of curiosity, how far did you go with WoW raiding ?

If u are a healer than u need 1-2 more imperative addon. and no u cannot raid without them, if u say u can, u are totatlly clueless about the game u played. There's no endgame raider, that can call himself good in doing his jod, that doesn't use a minimal package of addons.

Full Kara, Gruuls and we had entered SSC when I, ina  fit of "WTF?"  Quit the guild and joined the Wife on Horde.  Teh guild leader was...  well soft on "girls" so teh gals running with us were causing no end of drama.  I got sick of sitting out Prince (I jsut wanted my helm damn it) and got told to wait for the 5th time because "She really wants a few more tries"

About 6 months or longer, Microsoft Internet Explorer had a flaw that allowed hackers to use other websites such as MMORPG.com to transmit a trojan to computers.

 

My computer was hit and my main was wiped out clean. Fortunatly, I belonged to a great guild who got me some equipment and gold to get me through while Blizzard investigated the hack. I read up about the IE flaw and switched to Firefox.

Use Mozilla Firefox.  Never get scammed again.

And what class did you play when raiding SSC ?

It's absolutely possible to raid without addons.

Will you have a clue what's exactly going on or being as efficient as you can be ? No.

I main tanked and guild mastered and trust me KTM (or any other threat meter) was and still is a must if you wanna see who doesn't know how to DPS properly and gets aggro or he's just AFK leeching not doing enough DPS.

Depends on how far you wanna monitor your raid for efficiency or detecting mistakes + solving them.

I really wonder why would anyone stress themselves in pointless wipes cause they don't use boss timers so they can coordinate to avoid a wipe due to a special ability.

This can only lead to 2 possible conclusions:

a) You have mazochistic tendencies (as a person or a guild)

b) You really don't mind spending 2x the time at a boss just cause you refuse to use raiding addons

In my book both are equally sad :P

Raiding without addons is possible and not absurd at all.  Especially if you come from an Everquest raiding background, - no threat meters there.  You had no way of knowing how far up the aggro list you were.  I know a lot of people that came from EQ on my server.

And to be honest it's often pretty easy to know if you're doing too much aggro, especially with experience.

There are many times when I have raided without addons especially just after a patch.  Omen was broken after 2.4 - the latest version was bugged.

reread what I posted. And the word scammed indicates that I applied or bought something and didn't get what was delivered or got the short end of the stick. I neither applied nor bought anything online. The trojan was brought over by visiting this website. It was only after the fact that the trojan hit and was not caught by my virus scanner, that I was wiped out.

I don't use gold sellers and the only add on I use have a track record of being good, such as Auctioneer and Titanbar.

By Scammed I meant you get screwed by losers violating IE.

And in TBC from what I see in your gear you probably never went further than Gruul.

So pre-TBC you did some ZG runs, some MC runs and some random AQ20 runs...

Not enough experience to say that you "don't need addons".

So I'm sorry I ain't convinced you don't need addons to raid. Maybe that's why you never went further.

Denying use of addons in fights like e.g Vashj or Kael'thas imho is more towards mazochism than skill.

If you came here with proof of high end raiding and insisted you skipped the addons, if it was true it'll be smthn worthy to mention.

Right now it's more like trolling and "addons are for noobs, EQ players do it without any" thread...
