I read a few post the other day here.I do agree when the game is almost a 4 weeks away and no one aloud to say anything. And they only letting a few in the game 15k and only in certain areas.Seem to me it poor PR and I am wondering if I should cancel my preorder! If the game is that great then I be like wow and invite everyone knowing that it a seller! IT been a long time and I havent heard of any organization saying they giving away so and so beta testing accounts. No nothing only preorders go into the live game.Is it that bad! Maybe another Aol beta? |

....well, I think it is almost time to pull out the dead horse pictures again.
Seriously. Why make a new thread about this? There are several threads discussing this topic. There's no need to create another one except to call attention to yourself. And not in a good way. |

Originally posted by naktos Trust me, letting in 15,000 people is a big deal. They will speak and they will tell their friends how the game is no matter what the NDA says, its just humn nature.
If they didnt think they had a great piece or work here they wouldnt do that.
This is a great marketing tool as well, because it will appeal to not only the RPG fans, but also the Shooter fans, witht the Capture the flag esque mode.
In my opinion, theres no reason to cancel your pre-order, unless you really cant see yourself playing the game past more than a week. Because a week is how lond you play good normal single player games for.
Thats why people love MMO's. You can spend a total of 150 bucks after subs and game cost, on an mmo but you can play it for years.'

Originally posted by naktosI can't answer all of your questions but let me see what I can do with a couple. As to the testing issue you mention, what they are doing now is a form of stress testing. Can the servers handle the numbers for example. This weekend, the PVP Gamespot thing, is about focusing on testing just that and also if the servers can handle major pvp events. I remember early on in WOW that if you attacked a major capital city (Org, Strath, IF, etc...) the server would almost always crash. My guess is also that after this PVP event, all classes will get one more class balance pass and its designed to make sure they are balanced as possible. I agree too - if you really liked your product, you should invite everyone....but you cannot do it. It would be chaos and it would prevent the devs from getting any real feedback. The number limits is because the alternative would create more work for the devs and it is better to do real focused testing then mass chaos testing - make sense? We are still really earl for open beta. My guess is May 1st and it will run for 2 weeks. That is usually par for the course. And as to if you should cancel your preorder: its your decision and I would base it simply on a gut feeling. I have the collector's edition pre-ordered and if the game sucks I am out like $80 bucks. But for me, thats not a huge sum of money. If money is an issue or something, I surely would cancel it. However, make it a rational decision: for me, I rather be out the money and not have all the really neat stuff that comes with the CE and from preordering. I hope this calms your fears a little. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. |

Also, yea trust me, from what I hear there is a very large difference between the GB Clinet and the Tech client but this is all speculation just like anything is until the NDA is dropped.

Originally posted by naktosI'm not flaming you. I pointed out that there were already several threads about this topic. There is simply no reason to start another. If you looked over the boards, you would have seen those threads easily and apparently oyu have, since you stated yourself you know this was discussed at great length.
So again. Why? |
