Flying Lab Software has announced that character transfers in Pirates of the Burning Sea are now live.

On Tuesday, April 15th, from 1:30a Pacific Time, there will be a brief, rolling outage in order to enable server transfers for your characters. [note: this outage is now complete]

When Pirates of the Burning Sea launched on January 22nd, we introduced our customers to 11 new game servers. Through feedback from our players and evaluation of our server populations, it has become clear that key game features require populations of higher density in order to function at optimum levels. When you take into account both the disparity in player time zones and the delayed launch of our title in some countries, we were spreading our overall population too thin. Also, in more recent builds, we were able to improve our server technology to allow for an even larger population than we were originally equipped to handle.

Providing our customers with the best game play experience is our first priority. Condensing our populations will lead to a richer, more vibrant game play experience for all involved, and our customers whole-heartedly agree. The character transfer option will not be available to our Australian customers on the Invincible server.

AWESOME!  The coolest part of this game; the economy (imo) requires a more dense population in order to function properyly.  With the eventual locking of 6 of the servers, this will hopefully lead to a much higher pop on the remaining servers. With this, the economy will soar!

Can't wait till everyone gets their toons transfered

BTW....Come over to Blackbeard....great PVP action with 4,5,6  or more ports in some stage of PVP action all the time!

"Yesterday is history, Tomorrow a mystery, and today is a gift"

loved the concept of the game, ...but it just didn't grab on to me like Evercrack or Warcrack

Might give it another shot soon though, strange how games tastes change over time

Yeah, you definitely have to be open to being a human and play in a historically accurate environment.  If you only like orcs and warlocks and crap, then this isn't for you.  I am hoping they will release a free trial soon so that people will be able to try before buying.

The economy is very very cool and interesting.  With the 'server merges', the PVP action will get intense and non-stop, the skirmish system coming in with 1.3 will make for some great practice, and for the PVE'ers like me, will still be able to impact the PVP portion of the game just as much as before , if not more.
