Um... how is this even a discussion. I have tried EVE,WoW,LoTR,MxO,and CoH all without a credit card. On this very website EVE states that no CC is needed. Actually a way they restrict unlimited free trials is by emailing you the activation code. Once you use a trial code, you can't use another for that account. Of course you can make multiple accounts but you can never make any progress because you will never be able to use your characters.

If you are interested you might try the game, and simply quit when time is nearly over. CRS has never failed to honor their agreements and are small enought to allow the player base to speak directly with the Rats.

Those free MMOLRPG are not acutally Massive..You mean TF2 and the other standalones that can struggle to support 32 players?

Perhaps you are too young to acutally have a CC:-)

City of Heroes/Villians doesnt. At least i didnt need a CC to use the trial

Wrong.  Apparently you have never played the game.  Creating multiple accounts would be a valid greifing option in WWIIOL and I care not to go into detail as in why.  Just take my word for it I guess or try the game and see.  WWIIOL is not about character progress,  its war.

If I could just make other accounts to continue free trial I would.... I would never have to ask for a tow or ride again.

One of the biggest reasons they ask for a credit card is so you can't keep signing up for 14 day trials over and over.  You only get one try per card.  I'm guessing the reason COH doesn't ask is because it isn't a constantly ran free-trial.

They used to have the trial and not require a CC. They did this before the battlefield Europe release. I played the free trial twice. Then two months later, right as bf europe launched I bought a subscription. Problem was, the launch was very buggy, terrible graphics problems that they were trying to now fix after release, and that thirty day subscription that came with the purchase turned out to be 3 days, then they charged me for another month :( I wrote a bunch of emails about the payment error, but they didn't bother to respond. On top of that I had an ATI card which I guess they figured no one used ATI cards so didn't bother to test before release, so I never got to play at that point. At least I got those two "free" trials :P (which wound up costing x2 the regular amount for the month of play) Never went back to see if they fixed the ATI Radeon issues...

An email to bloo@playnet.com would have fixed it the same day and if you have posted everyone would have told  you to email him. ATI are used by a large percnetage of players and is supported as well as nvidia is supported.

Well 1. I did contact billing, contacted them a number of times, but no reply other than the automated recognition replies as I recall. And 2. this was at the launch of Battlefield Europe which did in fact have game stopping bugs for ATI, and many were impacted by this problem. Support announced that they were trying to fix the issue, a known issue, a lot of ATI owners were upset and posting on the forums, a LOT of them.
