I was browsing Ebay,| put in Warhammer online and a seller came up who was selling 5 open Beata Keys for $60 each. As we have no idea when the open beta will start I fell that is pretty unreasonable, especially for half the price of the CE. I was wondering how do we contact Mytic and report this guy for selling beta keys? |

This guy bought the pre-order.. I am pretty sure he can do whatever he wants with his open beta access. |

While i find it completely evil that they're selling the codes without the collectors edition (which means anything they create via the head start disappears after a week when it asks for CE codes, suckers that buy those codes will be pissed). I have to agree with the others there's really nothing you or Mythic can do to stop the seller. Its a total rip off 60 dollars but at the same time not really a rip off since open beta is invite only. Ah the world we live in where people can capitolize off someone else so easily rofl. Personally anyone willing to buy those codes is someone who's not sure about the game yet and wants to ensure a shot to test it before release. I just hope they understand that they wont get to keep the cool CE stuff from the other 2 codes. (if you want the game and you want the CE just buy the CE there's still copies left!) Try the e-mail in their contact page http://www.mythicentertainment.com/contact/index.html, also I would suggest reporting them to ebay too, they have been known to take down auctions where no material goods are exchanged, like in game items and gold. |

He isn't doing anything wrong. He bought the Collectors Edition (must have got a couple) for the key's, and probably thought he could turn a quick dollar. It isn't illegal, or rule breaking. Think of it as a "partial Collectors Item". At 60$ I can't see him selling many of those anyway. Spend your time worrying about important things. You know, the war, the economy, presidential elections... not scoping eBay for 'potential' rule breakers. WHEN DID CREATIVITY DIE |

No one who actually BOUGHT the CE is going to sell just the codes that makes their CE worthless. The person selling those codes was most likely one of those lucky souls who walked into a Gamestop that was pratically giving them away for nothing (actually some did) or a Gamestop employee that embezzeled them. Its been a rather hot vicious topic since Gamestop cluster frakked itself. Please Refer to Doom Cat with all conspiracies & evil corporation complaints. Actually - i bet that the beta codes are not allowed to be sold on. Things like that always remain the property of the company, they are simply giving people who purchase a preorder access to it. I'm sure you could report it if you wanted... what would happen though would be very little. That said, i don't understand what your problem is exactly. It may be against the rules but he isn't doing any harm - everyone had a chance to buy a CE. More fool to the people who buy them though, i'm sure it won't be as simple as downloading the client and entering a key. |

You can ask to be removed and they will invite someone else (at some point). Most pre-order beta access happens after the NDA has been lifted. So in general I'm not really sure how that would work.. as Mythic now EAMythic actually allowed since launch for you to sell or trade your DAoC account. What they didn't support was farming plat to sell for cash and similar transactions. I mean you could just as easily sell your pre-order to your neighbor because you needed the cash (as an example). So I'm not really sure.. I actually thought the point of the thread was going to be that someone was selling closed beta access...

Originally posted by vickypollardMMORPG developers want to make money. So? That makes them evil? You pay for a service with conditions attached. When you buy a DVD movie, you pay for the right to consume it personally. So a family is the limit more or less. Lending it beyond the family and you already breach the conditions, meaning you "stole" the right of the seller to charge your friend and their friends and their friends. Should they be pissed? yes. You mentioned that the producer or seller have difficulties going after you, yes that is true. Does that mean you are now a glorified paladin beating the ugly evil boss, by breaching an agreement and then hiding? Nah. The way you present your case, you sound like a criminal mocking the victims because you find a way to get away from the law enforcement. |

My card at the bottom, in small text says:
"Offer may not be substituted, exhanged, SOLD, or redeemed for cash or other goods and services, or applied to a prior purchase."
Maybe I am wrong, maybe I am misreading it, but it says it may not be sold. |

onto the topic. here is how you report beta key sellers: 1) set your house on fire. 2) stay in the house. |
