Yeah, havent we ? I mean when it comes to gaming an MMORPG and we get bored of slaying dragons of such, killing enemie players and our guild always anoying us with u need better gear emotes? well some minigames are bound to be in an MMORPG Fishing, Please make it better than world of warcraft. I beg of you! my oppinion about how MMORPG fihing should be done is DARK CHONICLE ever played that ? that is on hell fun game when it comes to fishing, and u can put fish in an tank to keep em there and go to fish race contests, and make em compete AWESOME, to bad its a one-person game for my PS2 :( Running races, you get out to run on a course thats preset in areas, beat the timetrial or compete against friends too ^^ idd love to run that. and really i could keep going, but idd be so kind and say one game title for more alike this Crash Bash and thats about it, dont forget minigames like above. Games wont be the same without them

Don''t mock me my friend. It''s a condition of mental divergence. |
Minigames are a great idea, I would like to see them used more often. Crafting for instance, could benifit greatly from minigames, maybe to craft more than one thing the minigame becomes harder or something. A cooking minigame or a smithing minigame would make what is usually boring activities more interesting. In the just for fun realm you could have races, marksmenship contests, even pie eating contests, all kinds of things to do to offer a break to fighting 24/7. The down side is that minigames take time to make so the game would be in developement longer and having to perform a minigame to craft or somthing disrupts those people that like to farm and just mass produce something, which may not be a bad idea. |

Heh heh, you mean kinda like Puzzle Pirates has done? Every activity (sailing, carpenting, navigating, etc) is a minigame. I kinda liked the idea there. |

I think mini-games that are integrated well are a good thing. I've never played Puzzle Pirates, but hearing the word "mini-game" makes me think of an awkward set of rules that deviates entirely from that of the core game and totally interrupts the flow I've become accustomed to (like those racing sections in old James Bond games **shudder**). World of Warcraft has mini-games, but they don't fit in well with the atmosphere. I mean, seriously, CTF with Alliance vs. Horde? And you have to wait in line for it, too? Sad, very sad. |

Originally posted by CactusmanX The longer development might not need to be an issue if the developer planned to incorporate a series of mini-games but initially opted for a simple 'craft' screen which can later be replaced by the 'crafting-game'. This also permits users who dont want to play the mini to simply skip it... the results of the mini game will influence the results of the crafting. Hence if your happy with standard pants, just click [make pants], but if you want 'super-pants' you better do well in the 'pant-game'. Doing badly should result in less than standard pants given your chars skill rating (hence 'god' can make good pants even on a bad day, but I want his good-day pants..... Mmmm "good-day-pants"). |

Originally posted by ianonmmorpg I loved that comment! <3 As for Crafting Professions, we can take Tailoring, you have to complete a serie of mini games to complete the "good pants" and I love the idea of the player skill performance increases the power of the "pants" created :D Talioring Mini games 1. You have a scissor and u need to cut in some cloth, you move your mouse forward and click mouse to cut, if you happen to go too far you ruin some cloth and may in the end lose some cloth material, if you do it too bad. 2.You have two peices of cloth, and you need to sew them together, you have needle and tread and offc. you need all the stings to be in a strait line. You only have the amount of tread that you activated to make the pants to begin with, you will see your hand move across the area where a sting is needed, and you need to press a "sew" button an the exact right momment, if your unhappy about the "sewing" you can reverse it, but you lose some tread. I think this will be challengeing Cant really come up with more /better ones for a tailoring profession, right now I do have one for Alchemy Alchemy Mini game 1. As an Alchemist u need to be able to see when to adminster the ingredients. You have a cookpot and a fire place, you can lower the pot to increase heat and/or raise it to lower the heat, you have a spoon to stir it and you have to look on the coulor on the "potion soup", as you can read in your recipe book the soup have to have a special colour before you can administer that ingredient. Further more just like Tailoring if you screw up you lose "potion soup" or materials or in rare cases i think it would be cool to have the whole think blow up in you face. but if you suceed well you may increase the amount of "potion soup", meaning getting more out of it than if you just did it normally. 2. Administer it to bottles! dont spil, in a game just like "sew the two cloth parts, you have to administer the potion into bottles when your pot is directly above the bottle. dont spil any as it will decrease the final out put. This was juts some of the TONS of ideas i have for these minigames could be used to |

The mini games should all be multiplayer. I mean, this are online games, right? Why make a mini game that just has one player take part? You can have board/card games, reflex oriented games (harder because of lag), or puzzle sort of games. Make them multiplayer and have prizes. They don't have to be integrated, you can play them while waiting for your group to form, or just have fun with them. Perhaps there might be a quest where you compete in the mini game against an npc (like the card games in KOTOR or FF9). Just saying, they don't have to be integrated to be fun. What is dumb is mini games for actions that are supposed to stand for the action but don't match. You go to pick a lock and then have to play a match 3 or rythm game or something stupid like that. If it's tailored to the action it's ok. |
