Mordor is waaaay down the line. And thank God. You wouldn't eat the dessert before the entree would you?
All the current areas are in Eriador. The Ice Bay of Forochel is being added in an update this month. That will be the second entirely new zone that has been added, the other being Evendim. There have also been other areas added, but these were expansions to zones that were already in the game. They added a large area to the Misty Mountains zone as well as the Trollshaws. There's still plenty of lands that could be put in for Eriador, however it seems that they will be put on hold for a while in order to move east. A retail expansion is coming out this fall that will include Moria (which from the descriptions is going to be HUUUGGGEE) as well as the areas to the west (Hollin) and east (Lorien). Nobody knows what will happen then. There's basically two directions to go. To the south you have all the places from The Two Towers. Fangorn Forrest, Isengard, and Rohan. To the north you have all the areas from The Hobbit such as Mirkwood Forrest, The Lonely Mountain, Laketown, and the wood elf kingdom. Not to mention Dol Guldur, the fortress of the Necromancer (aka where Sauron was before he rebuilt his tower in Moria). So it will probably be a long time before Gondor and Mordor get released. |
