id like to ask what will be your decision.....will u play on a rp-pvp or a pvp server?

Actually what will be their main difference ? Will funcom provide some extra features on rp pvp servers,or everything will be determined on rp players themselves?

I argue with half my brain tied behind my back, just to make it fair.

You are banished if you slip outta character on the RP server.

SCIENCE PROVES CAPS LOCK CAN CURE CANCER.

I am still unaware of the major differences myself. The people over at Funcom haven't really discussed much about how their servers are going to work yet, just a bunch of tiny tidbits. I'm aware that there are different naming policies for the RP-PVP server, vice-versa the regular PVP server.

My assumption of what the game is trying to introduce to PvP with the RP-PVP servers is chivalry, something not too familiar to standard MMORPG PVP play. For example, in Border Kingdoms, you see two people in the distance. They are fighting. According to chivalry, you would not interfere and let the best man win. Let's take it into the games perspective; say you're max level, and you run into someone of much lower level than you. It would be considered unchivalry to kill that person just for shits and giggles (although, I honestly admit, I have done the same in previous games that I've played). My guess for the main differences between the two different types of servers are that you get PvP debuffs for performing unchivalry acts in the RP-PVP server while the regular PVP servers consider "all is fair in war". I can imagine the RP-PVP servers starting out as the more popular servers....

From what has been said so far, the only difference between these two, will be a different ruleset. That means a Code of COnduct will be implemented on RP PvP Servers, most likely there to enforce In Character behaviour and such things.

We'll see how well FunCom implements that and how well it is actually enforced. By well, I do not mean how -strict- but how sensible GM's will be and how-present- they will be on the RP PvP servers.

In general there usually aren't any additional features in RP servers.  As stated naming policies are more strictly enforced as well as a few other things that I can't think of right now.  Also people generally expect you to chat as though you are your charcter.  It depends upon the server and game but generally things like "OMG I just pwned that noob" would not be looked upon well at all on an RP server.  Some guilds on RP servers will strictly enforce staying in character as much as possible.  I have found sometimes roleplaying can be a lot of fun, but if you are not used to doing it then it can seem like a lot of work.  RP servers also sometimes tend to have more mature players, but sometimes you will also get 13 year old idiots looking to cyborz...  Essentially if you really aren't looking to roleplay your character, then I'm sure the RPers would appreciate that you just roll on a PvP server, but feel free to do whatever you want you are paying for your subscription.

The best you can get is name enforcing.

Never , ever ,ever ,ever - was a player banished for any MMO in known existence for not roleplaying

Basicaly it will be just another gank server , with no "Ipwnu" and "Drizzt" names

Forget about any roleplay there

I really hope that they release more details soon as I am definitely interested in playing on the RP-PvP servers.

What exactly has been said so far? Have Funcom indicated whether the different rulesets will mainly consist of  'Chat Channel Restrictions' or might they actually try to monitor anti-social behaviour?

The game looks great & if they had decent 'RP Servers' as well it would be brilliant!

If you can't "Have your cake & eat it too", then how can "The proof of the pudding be in the eating"?

You are so wrong lobo, there will be plenty of RP to be found if you look for it, I myself will be RP-ing as much as possible on the rp-pvp server along with most of my kinship from lotro rp server(we have near 100 active members), and i know of many more rp-kinships moving over to AoC rp-pvp server once it comes out and we have already set up plans for rp events, rp battles and such forth, well at least for the 1st few months at least, if the server degenerates into a gank server then the rp'ers will move on, simple really.
