With MMO's being so popular these days you would figure TV shows like Portal would make a comeback. Then again G4TV is nothing like what it was. |

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic |
Its only a matter of time till G4 no longer is about video games like MTV is no longer about music but crappy shows like Road Rules and The Real World. |

The problem with gaming on television is that it doesn't appeal to the masses. Non gamers will watch garbage like Jack Thompson bash games all day long, but get them to sit down and watch positive coverage on them is near to impossible. A lot of gamers may be like myself, in that when I'm not gaming, I'm not going to go out of my way to watch a television program about it. I'll visit websites such as this and other major sites, but sitting down to watch pretty people who probably never play in their free time just doesn't appeal to me. Live or recorded coverage of random CoD4 matches would be interesting, as would showing machinima like RvsB. Which actually gets me thinking. Has Red vs Blue been on tv at all? I would think that if it was on regularily it would draw quite a few viewers. |
