The devs were going to start the "clan beta" of Darkfall. I was a member of one clan that recieved an invitation. My name/email/info was submitted along with the others. And...yeah. So I wonder - at what point would these forums cease to serve the best interests of the MMORPG fan? IMO, we passed that point some time ago. Bingo. I remember back when I first started browsing this site Darkfall was in the works, btw, I started browsing this site long before I became a member. I was excited about it for awhile, but eventually the truth dawned on me. At this point, there is absolutely no reason to believe this game is coming out, and all the reasons to believe this is vaporware until proven otherwise. MMORPG.COM is embarrassing itself by having this game listed. DF is a game that 3 dudes in the basement are working on. They truly won't to make a game, but don't have the means to do it.

While the chances of this game ever making it live are in the single digits, I still think the forum should remain on the very remote chance that it does. Problem with games that take this long to make, the technology passes them by. Nothing wrong with those that label it vaporware, because it is probably king of the vaporware titles at this point in time. The devs have done zip to promote it. It has never been seen at one of the big game shows where everyone shows off their products. Pretty good indication that they really don't have any product to show.

Whenever I see this type of thread insisting that a forum be removed it always makes me ask myself, "What is it about this forum or game that threatens or scares people so?". This forum or any forum continuing to exist doesn't affect any of you personally so why cry for it's removal? Are you paying some 'per forum fee' that I'm not aware of? No? I didn't think so. If this forum bothers you this much the solution is simple....just don't come here any more. If you feel threatened in some way by reading about Darkfall the solution is simple....Just don't read this section any more. See how simple that is? Trying to control what others read is just censorship no matter how you personally might feel about any given topic or try to justify it. Darkfall meets or exceeds all of the criteria for a listing here on MMORPG so it should stay no matter how you, I or anyone else feels personally about it. For shure current MMO market is missing such game like Darkfall . and also he keeps society away from WoW leprosy . For me Darkfall is a dream so I do not care if its vaporware, utopia or anyting else. Me and many of us just do not want to miss our dreams. Think to Darkfall as deep look at a light future. You may have to wait for someone to upload the pics from Wonderbricks compiled Darkfall related media zip though.

I think DFO qualifies to be listed under the rules that MMORPG.com set. Your personal stance on the matter does not over-rank the set standards for listing. If it did, we'd have no games because all games have people who would believe it doesn't belong. The point is that Darkfall has done nothing to warrant removal other then delay a few times... a fate with A) Many MMOs share, B) MMOs that don't share that probably SHOULD. How about that? I came to DarkFall's defense on something. NOTE: I still stand by my stance that everything shown to date could have been done as a Technology Demo using a non-MMO Engine. However, most MMOs have done that at some point. - CaesarsGhost Lead Gameplay and Gameworld Designer for a yet unnamed MMO Title. "When people tell me designing a game is easy, I try to get them to design a board game. Most people don't last 5 minutes, the rest rarely last more then a day. It's called credibility. I'd apperciate it if the site that I count on for my MMO news wasn't so gullble. Now, I can only take what I read from this site with a grain of salt, because of games like Darkfall, Mourning, D&L, and other games that MMORPG.COM has run through the mega-hype machine.

I agree, this game could be an investment scam. It’s happened before, it happened with the Phantom Gaming console (and they had the balls to call it phantom too, I love that). The phantom guy made off with about 20 mil from investors. There is no proof whatsoever that Darkfall is being made. I suggest we all just ignore it and forget about until they can prove this game is being made.
