Vogster has announced a new MMO caled CrimeCraft. CrimeCraft is a combo third person shooter and RPG.

NEW YORK, NY, April 10, 2008 – With the growing popularity of Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) games now moving beyond the hardcore player and fantasy realm, Vogster Entertainment, a leading innovator in video game design and content, today announced CrimeCraft, a massively multiplayer third-person shooter, role-playing game. Scheduled for release and available for free download and play in Spring 2009, CrimeCraft is a unique forerunner into a genre dominated by fantasy and sci-fi themes as it transports gamers into a lawless city filled with gangs, crime and street-style justice.

“For us, the amazing social component inherent in MMO games is really the lynchpin in diversifying the content and overall consumer experience,” says Matt McEnerney, Executive Producer at Vogster. “For CrimeCraft, we wanted to enhance those unifying connections players enjoy, yet do so with content that was a little more realistic and forward-reaching than the majority of fantasy content currently available.”

Free to download and play, first details for CrimeCraft will be revealed exclusively on GamesRadar.com on Friday, April 11, 2008, and in the June issue of PC Gamer that hits newsstands on or about April 29, 2008.

For additional information, please visit www.crimecraft.com.

MMORPG.com will continue to follow this game as more information becomes available.

I personally think this is a poor choice for a name, its likely to cause parents to not buy it and not allow their kids to play it based on name alone.

In my opinion they should really change the name it will likely cause loss of sales

Not sure if it would majorly effect server pop as players come and go where but not likely cause a core player to not at least try it

I swear, why are they allowed to put in this drivel? Who the hell has ever heard of this company before now? I'm looking at their site www.vogster.com/, and these yahoos have never even put anything out. Yet, they're a "leading innovator"?

Give me a break.

It just needs a new hull, new superstructure, new propulsion, new interior, new this, new that. . . . . . . . . But then again, it didn't crash half as hard as Age of Conman did."

I have to disagree, look at games like GTA, Assassins Creed, Gears of War, Thief, and Hitman, to name a few that sold pretty well.  I don't think the name will harm the game if its good.  I don't really like the name because it sounds corny...CrimeCraft.  It just doesn't sound like a good name for a game.

I was looking at the site too and I worried that they don't have any games that are out too.  They have 4 games in the works but that even makes me more leery.  Most beginner devs can't even handle 1 title and their trying to create 4?  I don't know I'll put the site on my favorites and check it once in a while, but I don't expect much.
