Turbine has released some new screenshots from the upcoming Book 13: Doom of the Last-King. These ones focus in on the wintery region of Forochel.

Check out all six here.

Im not sure what I was expecting to see but  I wasnt impressed,  looks the same as misty mountains

I guess I was expecting more arctic  type terrain   like blue glacier fields  with  turquoise blue pools  more glistening maby?

I just hope they have some slippery ice up there to play on,, ice in misty is boringly  non-slippery

loved the ice in cirt of heroes.

make a world, not a game, we dont want another game.

I was expecting more of an arctic look too.  Maybe that is there though, but these screenshots just don't reflect it.

That sabertooth looking tiger looks cool :)

I hope this is released soon because I am so bored I am to the point of just quiting mmo's altogether.

If they could spend 1/2 as much time getting their characters to look as nice as their terrains I might even resubscribe..

That being said, it kinda reminds me of Everquest1 screen shots hehe

Hmm...

I have to wonder if these simply aren't some of the more impressive shots they've shown because, I tend to agree they're a bit lackluster.

I don't look at those and think "frigid and potentially deadly environment"

When I think "frigid arctic environments", something more like this comes to mind:
Clicky Me

Even Everfrost in EQ2 captures that "frigid arctic" feeling nicely. It has that "cold" look - even the sky has that pale, misty, cold look as I remember it.

The only shots there that really say "arctic" to me are the first and last ones, and the one with the snow beast.

Well, maybe they're saving the best for later. We still have some months to go, so I'll hold any final opinion 'til then.

Erhm, Forochel isn't the pay-expansion Mines of Moria. Forochel is a free content update that is coming this month (Book 13).

lol... You're right. I caught that as soon as I saw the "pay-expansion" bit. Don't mind me.

The third one kinda reminds me of the Shiverpeaks from Guild Wars.
