Did I read that AoC was focusing on PvP?  I know of only one MODESTLY successful PvP game, and it got that way by sheer brute force (advertising).  By advertising every single day, Eve has managed to attract more players than it loses over the years (which is saying a lot). 

I wish AoC every bit of success; and like many became very excited by reading of its possibilities.  I will check the reviews upon launch, but the OP has illustrated it probably isn't for me.  Among other things, we must look at the target demographic.  And clearly AoC's primary target is early teens.

You're saying a focus on PvP is a bad thing for AoC? And yet you think Darkfall will be for you? With Darkfall supposedly being 100% PvP? Okay.................

  In that case...I've been wasting my time with you over these threads.  The only reason you are so behind DF is because you are new to it.  Most of us have watched it for more than a year...more than 2 years.  We've seen this same crap each year...the stuff you swear as "new" information and set beta testing.

I dont hate. Im not paying a dime to darkfall so it doesnt matter. ive known about df for along time. But i was smart and waited to wait i wont have to watch df for no more than a year for beta to start.

all should be good the devs are to nit picky to let the game release in a bad state or crappy state

It also has dungeons.. Something strangely lacking from every Darkfall screenshot or video..

It seems to me that:

A) AOC devs started this by explicitly mentioning Darkfall in a post and saying a few things about it that were less than professional.

B) Tasos posts his article.

C) Someone reads it and sees Tasos mention a a couple things that he feels are wrong with the game industry today. Said person is an AOC beta tester and see's these bad things and immediately what pops up in their head? AOC. Why? Well, either that's because everything Tasos said was true and the guy automatically thought he was talking about AOC because it was all true pertaining to AOC. OR, they just want to stir shit up.

Both times it has been Age of Conan and their supporters who come out and target Darkfall directly and try to bring it down, and darkfall has responded much more professionally. I don't see where all of these people bashing Darkfall are coming from. They have said they will let you try the game before you decide to buy it or not, they are making progress, it is not vaporware. If it's your thing cool, if it's not then leave it at that, otherwise you're just making an ass out of yourself.

What I can't seem to see here is why the AoC community is any worse than the Darkfall community.  Then whenever an AoC fanboi comes here, a Darkfall fanboy insults him and calls him an AoC fanboy, kinda funny if you ask me.
