Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

Everything about this game is much better than anything I've played MMO wise.  It's really a shame it had all of those launch issues.  However, something is bothering me about it.  If I do all the work to get to level 50, are they going to close it down?

Vanguard is a very good game, had it been released in it's current state it would have done much better.

No, this game will not close down anytime soon. There is enough of a fanbase to keep it going. Whether or not there will be anything more than one or two game updates per year (i.e. an expansion) remains to be seen.

I'd wager since SWG is still running and has a dev team Vanguard will be around for a while too and probably continue to get new content.

If the OP meant fantasy based MMOs, well, I'd have to agree with the OP.

I did mean fantasy based.  I think EVE-online is the best MMO of all time, imo.  I have three accounts in eve.  But the Vanguard diplomacy system is just awesome.  I love the crafting, too.

you need to play more MMOs...or better ones

I did mean fantasy based.  I think EVE-online is the best MMO of all time, imo.  I have three accounts in eve.  But the Vanguard diplomacy system is just awesome.  I love the crafting, too.

As usual, you didn't bother to read the entire thread, the OP already acknowledged that he likes another game more.

Just jumping on the trolling bandwagon for just about everything these days....Do you even play MMOs? Do you have anything positive to say about any of them? Everywhere I see your post its just doom and gloom about them.

Peggle is a fine game you know. I don't believe they have forums to troll however....

this game is my number two favorite mmo I have ever played after EVE. I read tons of bad stuff about it but was intrigued by it enough to drop 20 bucks on it to give it a try and have been pleasantly surprised. I have played in no particular order

UO, Lineage, Lineage 2, WOW, Everquest, Everquest 2, SWG, Tabula Rasa, FF XI, COX/COV, LOTRO, Second Life, AO, Planetside, Maple Story, DAoC, Darkeden, Dofus, D&D Online, Dungeon Runners, Fury, Knight Online, Mabinogi(Beta), PotBS (beta), Requiem: Bloodymare(Beta), RF online and so forth.

and yes I have no life.

this is however only my opinion and I'm sure everyone knows what they say about opinions.

I've played many MMORPGs and I have had this much fun since the early days of EQ1.  The populations  are on the rise, the game is much improved and there seems to be much more planned for this game.  So I very much doubt it will be shut down.
