WAR (Warhammer Online)

Watching videos from the Paris press conference I enjoy the way the game looks. It looks like a prettier, more colorful, and more full of character Guild Wars. I remember when I first picked up GW I was amazed at how great it looked, the lighting mixed with awkward yet well done character models(mostly the males) and cool casting effects.

I don't want an EQ2, I love EQ2 but I can barely run it on my computer. I definitely do not want a VG because I don't want the Crysis of MMOs, where the top computers have trouble running it. It looks way better then most MMOs out right now, and definitely will not look as good as AoC but I don't really care, not looking forward to limited PvP and single player instances. I am coming to WAR for DAoC 10.0 with a new skin, not a brand new leap into the MMO world.

Everytime I watch a video on this game I get more and more excited. Tome of Knowledge? awesome, come on, achievements are the best part of owning a 360 in my opinion, and WAR is doing achievements times 100. It writes your story, tracks lore, covers monsters, tells you when you do a certain amount of something like 50+ tells or 100 deaths, you find secrets in the game it tells you, you try to fight monsters that are too tough for you and it makes fun of you, and it tracks your RvR and so much more. You get EXP, trophies and dye and shit as rewards, so other then saying, yea I got this you get things to show what you got.

I understand people are coming in here crying because it is so hyped up but there is a reason for it. The game looks awesome if you look at what they are doing. It isn't just showing you a picture and saying look how pretty, it is saying oh you don't believe we can do that? Take a look douche bag, what do you have to say now? Monsterous barbarian with tentacles and a mutating arm? Yea we got em, and he looks awesome too. 24 classes? Yea we got em. Best aspects of DAoC's RvR? Yep got those too. And I could keep going. WoWbabies just come in here not even thinking about what they are talking about and going OMG WOW IS THE FIRST OF ITS KIND AND EVERY GAME THAT LOOKS LIKE IT IS COPYING OMG WOW NEVER RIPPED ANYTHING OFF OF ANY GAME OR TABLE TOP FRANCHISE... whoops. I can see why a simple person would argue this without knowledge of EQ or DAoC which WoW continues to rip off with the upcoming expansion, WoW ripped off GW for christs sake aldor and scryer anyone? I don't want as many people as WoW, thats why WoW has the worst community ever, people were comparing DAoC and FLyFF saying FlyFF was the better PvP based game, that is not a lie and has happened more then once with different people on both factions.

TLDR

Graphics are great and will run on many computers, Tome of Knowledge is fucking awesome, and WoW babies are babies.

Yeah the achievements in this game are like Xbox points except they matter.

I agree with the OP....on almost all accounts...

DAOC was a head of it's time...unfortunately all MMO's have an expansion which screws things up big time...WOW's is coming...

This game brings a lot to the MMORPG industry, a big portion of what has been missing since SWG and the NGE...think about it..and I know that this is very argumentative, but the PvP industry has not had a game released to cater to it in how many years?

And as I have always said...you cannot create a PvP game on a PvE engine...it just doesn't work...so I am excited, that one of the best companies to design a PvP game in the recent past is creating a newer version...

Go Mythic..thank you...I would play this game before any other game, including AoC...it is as close to non-linear as you can get currently...I just wish they would have went with a skill system as opposed to a Level system...

Hmmm looking at graphic... Well it is dissapointing a bit, in all vidoes there were no shadows at all! They really could do atleast a but better in graphics, thought everything else looks hot and sexy allright.

Thought i newer judged game by its graphics, gameplay is moust inportnat thing in mmorpg, but nice graphics are spicies which make it better!

Thought alot of poeple who have low ended pc will be really happy, they wount need to spend 1000eu+ 50eu( for a game) to play it

What the hell? How do you figure that? This is one of the more linearly planned games I know. Work your way to the capital, rince repeat.

  Hahahah, where did you imagine this?

its in the same mould as every other mmo out there at present, besides from maybe Darkfall being ever made and maybe eve, War is as linear as all other mmos.

So what does your rant  about war being good have to do  with include slagging wow of??? what does wow have to do with war is great argument???  Why did you have to mention anythign about wow?

I thought you playe EQ2 and its a great game but you cant run it on your computer, sorry than there was Vanguard oh and lets not forget the pinnale of all imersive persisnt, seelamess mmos that is GW.  So when were you playing wow while you were playing those other 3 epic mmos?

Everything is linear in one way shape or form, including your train of thought as you just advertised.  What i think Vampirian28 was suggesting is there is more then one effective way to get to the capital and there is more than one way to help take it.  But, in the end, your all still taking the capital.  Are you telling me you want an objectiveless game?

I have played all of these mmos also... you must be a light-weight, figures, the gobby ones usually are.

You should write to Blizzard and let them know how defensive you got - i bet they'd laugh in your face.
