my god, this game scarred me I guess. I had such high hopes for it and so much faith in Brad that I was crushed when this game failed. I played since early beta and for the first month after launch but 2 of my RL friends quit and my guild was beginning to collapse so I canceled and never looked back.

Never looked back is a lie, since vanguard my urge for another EQ experiences grew stronger, my cynicism grew deeper, and my enjoyment of MMOs in general began to decay a little bit.

Here's hoping WAR is a success, DAoC was a great game as well, I hope WAR isn't to DAoC as VG was to EQ =/

Preach it brother! This game had such possibilities and promise, I stayed on only to see my hopes for it pulverized into dust. Now it stinks on ice. So sad really.

you cannot heat up our moon juices

All i can say is anyone that is "scarred" by a game is going to have a very rough time with what life has in store for them.  As far as the PTSS, i have friends right now that are in Iraq that could very well come back messed up.....Its sad to even compare a game experience with what war does to people.

So you have not played the game in about 14 months and you feel the need to come here and tell us that you are emotionally scarred from the experience?

Honestly the game has improved a lot in that time.  I have a feeling that the AoC crowd will need your input soon.

I wasn't even going to go there, I work for the Army and I 1000% agree. We have a lot of people out there with actual PTSD and its a fairly serious.

But I figured this is just a kid who's trying to troll something cause he's got nothing else to occupy his mind but a game he didn't like 16 months ago....

It thougth this threa was buried. While I live in a country where these things are left for those that suffers chocks in the ordinary day. I was thinking that you meet people more often that actually have this.

Isn't it abit sad and (can't find the word) belitteling people with PTSD, and the reasons behind it, by silly posts like this. Or is this kind of stupid humor accepted?

Aw phooey. Does anyone really think the OP is belittling folk with PTSD? Seriously?

Besides, reading his post, he's clearly mis-self-diagnosed. There's no indication of any anxiety disorder there but... being 'crushed', cynicism, loss of enjoyment - sounds more like depression to me.

MMOs giving you PTSD.... admittedly melodramatic, but there's a serious point being made.

What VG did - raising would-be players' hopes to giddy heights and then ruthlessly dashing them, while simultaneously insanely refusing to admit to there being any problems.... has an impact on the mmo community.

Understandably, many of us are now cynical about promises being made by developers. Personally, I've sworn off pre-purchasing any mmos, or even thinking about playi
