"We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand" - Randy Pausch

If I were to make a PvP in a game, it would be like this.-

There would be a certain zone for PvP.

There are spots for 1v1, and spots for 2+v2+, and guild vs. guild.

In some spots, you can attack people close to your level

In other spots, you can attack people, no matter of your level.

You lose all your items when you die.

In my opinion, that would be a great PvP game

Lose all the items and the character is a better idea.

You're making the mistake of thinking in terms of 'levels' instead of a skill-based system. Until you can free yourself from that, all your ideas will suck.

That's even more ridiculous than my abbreviated post.  How do you know he wasn't talking about skill level or ladder ranking level?  He obviously wasn't, but you could have been more constructive by glossing over that fact and making suggestions as if he was.

The only reason I think this is far more attention than this thread deserves is because the chap just took all of the 'hard-core' and/or 'standard' features and compiled a rather short list of them...  My stance is that 'hardcore' pvpers who think full-loot is impressive are carebear and would whine like infant girls if perm-death were implemented...  And, I like the idea of perm-death for PvE as well as PvP.

But, as I said, until the OP elaborates... even this is more response than this thread deserves in my admittedly less than humble opinion.

I forgot I wrote this thread...anyway..

It will be a level based system, but I don't think there's anything wrong with that.  You get to a level, you go ionto certain PvP areas and fight

I agree with mike,  Level based systems give a player  goals in the game.. otherwise even if you like a game you see no reason to play it when your friends aren't on it. Having zones to do everything in a game allows for new player base as well as appealing to hardcore gamers.  It also allows for lower level new players to only fight other lower level new players so they actually stand a chance. When you put new players in with vets even if there is no "level" differnce the result is still a slaughter for the new player thus increasing their chances of having a bad view of the game itself and less profits and players for the game and it's developers. I think zoning in games allows for player to have all sorts of activities not just pvp, differnt areas with differnt things allowed in them allows for more things to do on a game, that way it appeals to more people and allows for players to play more often keeping a large player base so that the game doesn;t feel "empty".
