"If you warn me about global warming once more, you''ll get a swift carbon footprint in the ass!"

I hear that word used to describe WoW more than any other.  What makes it so popular?  It's a polished game with very few bugs.

But I guy I was talking to who is a veteran of MMOs said it has more bugs than people think.  He just believes that since WoW is the first MMO for so many people, they just think it's more polished than it really is.

As an example, he said that a character can disrupt a spellcaster's spell just by stepping into him as he's about to cast.  You don't have to hit him with a weapon, simply touch him.  He said that's a bug that players just seem to live with.

Eh, WoW is about as good as any MMO that has released in the past 10 years. Bugs happen in a persistent world where people push the envelope of what the game is intended to do, and WoW is no different.

I played a mage for over two years and never once saw anything like that happen and never heard anybody else complain about it. Trust me, if there was a real bug like that people would be *howling* on the forums about it.

After playing SWG as my first mmorpg I was astonished by how polished WoW was when I started playing it. It really does deserve the accolades it gets.

No it's not the most polished game but I agree that because for many it was there first mmo so they believe it is. People forget that WOW's inital release was far from perfect and they gave people free play time because of the amount of problems they had at release. From this very day WOW still patches many problems with the game.

"Free crack and everybody gets laid."

The game is very polished.  Play vanguard and you will know just how polished WoW is.  However, its been around for over three years (i think) so thats three years of tweaks, balances, and patches.  Some of the bugs in the game (like the ability to duel by the ironforge bank) add a fun twist and should not be fixed.

yeah, i was sort of wondering that as well.  Not many games more polished than WOW and I'd love to hear of some of them.

I may be wrong here, but what i think you friend is talking bout is if anoter player walks through you disrupting your line of sight and canceling your spell.  they dont have to walk very far, and since there is no colision detection it may just apear as if all they have to do is touch you.  I played a warrior for about 2 years and trust me, i am touching them but i still die by mages :p

All spelling and typographical errors are based soely on the fact that i just dont care. If you must point out my lack of atention to detail, please do it with a smile.
