"The one you call messiah is a lie"--- Gary Numan |
What's going on with this sudden spate of " AoC has invisible walls armageddon is at hand, cancel your pre-order and run to the shelters!" threads? People comparing AoC to Guildwars and spreading what seem to be unfounded rumours and old womens gossip. FACT If this is fact please provide links to statements from Funcom that confirm this, then it is fact. We know that there are narrow valleys and passes but this doesn't pass for " OMFG the invisible walls are closing in, we'll be crushed! ". Post your evidence and allow others to view it, if your evidence conclusively supports the lots of invisible walls and no freedom of movement theory and comes from Funcom. Others will agree with you for the most part and there will be no need to convince anyone. FICTION/RUMOUR If this is fiction please post statements from Funcom, pretty much the same parameters apply as above.

There are no invisible walls you can't pass with the /stuck command. I don't know how you call those, I call them pathing bugs. Beta testers should keep on beta testing. |

/sigh You, I, and everyone else in universe knows for a fact that no one from Funcom is going to come forth and say, "yes, we've got invisible walls and you'll love it". So what is your point? If a beta tester shows you game play footage from a beta leak video, the player is immediately cast off as a liar and not to be trusted because of such beta leak. So, please, do tell... how in the hell is someone going to convince you one way or another of this "invisible wall" theory. You've already made up your mind that if it isn't someone from Funcom confirming it, it is 100% false. How do you expect anyone to respond to your thread other than call you an anti-troll's troll?

@ OP ...." OMFG the invisible walls are closing in, we'll be crushed! ".... Sorry, nothing to add to your post but I'm interested in seeing how this thread goes and thanks for the image of the MMO community hitting the 'Panic Button', just priceless. |

I apologize if my position on this subject wasn't made clear by myself. What I'm saying is, until open beta or an official statement or video released from Funcom this is in the land of rumour. Now just because something is a rumour doesn't mean it isn't fact (NGE anybody?). What seems to be going on lately is a spate of invisible wall posts and I was of the opinion that I must have missed some important news release or video clip. I wasn't trying to push my point of view, just try and collect some information that I'm sure I must have missed. I regret if my post annoyed you and it wasn't my intention to provoke you or anyone else, I just want to know what the hell has happened all of a sudden and why. Give me some links or some sources of info either way, if it is rumour then fine I'm not accusing anyone of telling lies. I remember the NGE "rumour" and that seemed rather unlikley until my girlfriend's Jedi got washed down the plughole after a little announcement by Julio Torres. Really no offence was intended to you or anyone, Agricola |

Actually a more accurate description would be: "You're free to roam anywhere within the zone boundaries" |

Originally posted by Xasapis I'm aware of the zones and have no problem as SWG had zones, although it was done in a very clever way (interplanetry shuttles). As to how large those zones are is another matter, but I do remember reading about them a while back and they seemed to have done it to my satisfaction anyway. Although I can't recall the specifics off hand. It was more the comparisons to Guildwars and so forth that had me thinking I must've missed a press release or something. |

Something must have happened to the gene pool lately... |
Zones are not a problem, unclimbable, steep mountains and cliffs are not a problem, invisible walls like in Lotro's ancient forrest (between hobbit county and bree) are not a problem. Just invisible walls somewhere in an open area are annoying. And small boulders and fallen trees you cant walk of hop over are annoying. |
