Hello, I haven't found this around, so I am asking here. Is WAR going to have a lifetime subscription option around the release where you pay "x" amount for a lifetime subscription so after that you do not have to pay a monthly fee. Thanks, -jaz

Only one that ever had this was Turbine with LOTRO. That was only because they needed something to pull people in after AC2 and DDO. |

as much as i would love to see this happen it doesnt make sense for tehir company, why offer even a limited number of lifetime subs when you could be making 15- 20 off themn every month and even if they only stay with the game for 2-3 years make more then yoru lifetime sub charge could be |

While a lifetime sub would be cool, I highly doubt that would happen. I've got a lifetime sub for LOTR, which is fantastic. Since I bounce between several MMO's, it's nice to be able to go back to a game without ever having to pay for it again, but I just don't see Mythic doing that. |

Originally posted by vickypollardLord of the rings, is honestly, what started it all. The creator of D&D started the evolution of games. But Tolkien is what most of these games are based on. If it wasn't for Tolkien, we wouldn't have shit games like, WoW. But because of Tolkien we do see many games worth actually playing, like LOTRO itself, EQ etc.
Warhammer is also one of the best creations to the fantasy world. If it weren't for Tolkien, D&D and Warhammer, we would be playing pixie sticks... and FPS games like Planetside... or star wars, but SOE would funk it up. Although, AoC is going to kick some big butt.
I would also love it if mythic would allow this, but it's not up too them. This is a decision that would have to be made by EA and they just won't allow it. They would honestly shut the game down ( they are notorius for scrapping MMO's), before ever introducing a lifetime subscription.
Think of it this way. Will WoW ever introduce a lifetime subscription plan at anything less than $12/mo? No, so don't count on other big titles to be doing this either (AoC and WAR).
Turbine did this just because they didn't have enough subscribers. In the end, if they can lure people into a lifetime subscription, it's better than no money at all. This has nothing to do with the LOTRO lore being boring. I have played LOTRO and my impressions are simply, the game is amazing. WoW doesn't even come close based on graphics and lore alone. But WoW has a lot more to do in the game.
It is Turbine that's messing up LOTRO imo and that's why they had the lifetime subscription. The reason for this is that once you buy this, you have to pay like $250 I think it was. But after 3months you're not even playing the game anymore. You're just waiting for turbine to do something.
If blizzard, mythic or any other company was in charge of the game, there would be a lot more to do. There are no items to collect in the game. The craft items that were introduced when the game was first released are better than the items one can get in the biggest instance in the game, Helegrod. It's horrible to think that the items they had since beta are still the best in the game and they only require you to craft or buy from the AH. There are only two instances worth any time at all, Helegrod and rift.
So ya, the lack of content is what makes the game unattractive. I played the game when it first came out and quit a month later as I achieved everything that you could do. I just started playing a week ago and I've been raiding the rift instance. But I already have the best gear still, since I bought it or crafted it a while back.
Other than that it's an amazing game. But Mythic will not allow a lifetime subscription. Well, they might, but it won't be for like $250. It will be $12/mo x 5 years minimum. Which is like... $720 lol, it would be better if you just purchase a 6month subscription at $13/mo. |
