But until then these are open forums about general talk on mmos played and in development atm.  Players are free to state their opinions as long as they can show abit maturity.  And tbh - saying that these graphics suck badly in terms of quality is a very valid opinion in the year of 2008.

Other players are ofc welcome to state why they think its like this or whatever... As long as they can be abit mature in doing it.  So far I've not seen much other than WARfans trying to talk the doubters down by throwing all kinda crap at them.  Maybe there is a reason for this bad quality ?  That reason has not been mentioned yet.  But it still doesn't change the fact its a very bad 1998 looking quality.  And again... I wonder why... ?  hmm what beta test engine are Mythic running WAR on ???... I wonder ??

i downlaoded Beta leak video with gameplay andeverything looked Good. well animations can be a bit better but nothing big. AND GRAPHIX in beta is ON Minimum !  Youtube have this video with medum graphix and it looks damn nice ! posted that link on the other thread...

Watched the latest VOTM and everything about the game screams dated...

- Animations and combat animations are horrible, they remind me of EQ back in 1999.
- Textures are sooo low detailed and lots looked smudged and nasty.
- Polygons everywhere like we used to get back in games like 8 years ago.
- Combat looks sooo slow and dull all they are doing is standing there click on one animation all the time. If you want to imrpess me how about making the combat look fun in the videos?
- The in game soudns from what I heard are just poor and low quality and I just hope I can turn off the bad music and hear ambiant noises instead... you just know they are gonna be as poor.

Frigging the game looks better than from previous years yeah but it's set to ship fall of this year and I just can't see all this changing by the end of the year. I mean frigging if these are the problems I can see and hear then I dread to think how bad and buggy the gameplay is going to be like.

Flame me all you like if you can't take the truth but the game just looks bad and this is a forum and i'm giving my feedback. Most of my friends who arn't hardcore mmo players and have only played games like COD and WOW just say they arn't going to buy the game cause the graphics suck. Frigging most of you say it's not about the graphics but you are confusing technical with artistic and besides the graphics are what you're looking at when playing so you have to like them.

Since you didn't read one of my previous posts, i'll say that again. "I AGREE"  that in video that u linked graphics are horrible but they are expected to be horrible (set to low as possible) in beta... because they are not testing the looks but actual game to find any bugs  (sentrys under ground in tf2 anyone?)... and i linked you video from from Toronto Games Day that was LAST YEAR and graphics there are much better than in original Half - Life  or Starcraft (only 10 y/o games that i can think of atm)

I am interested in WAR and i don't really care about any other game atm and deffinetly not going to compare them

You linked 2 videos one of them is same old that as i said i have seen it, and other one is  about AoC

If they made the graphics better, more intense, top of the line, how many people do you think could run the game?

And in the forums we would read, "OMG LAG QQ", "Cant run this game!!" etc etc etc etc etc.................................................

Its EAMythic, if they wanted better graphics there would have been better graphics.

Most of the people who agree with the OP go by the beta vids alone. They're too lazy, too stubborn or just love to hate WAR so much they dont watch the vids that show how good the graphics are. Alot better than in the Mythic vids. Maybe Mythic doesn't need the highest-end graphics so people without a $2000 computer can play it with more than 14 FPS. Nice vids DONOT equal nice game, whereas crappy vids DO NOT equal crappy game.

I'm unimpressed with the animations. Looks like they used the WoW engine but I'll still probably buy it for the content which looks plentiful.

The content looks promising, and if they can do the player progression correctly I'll be satisfied with the game...but yeah, the animations leave a lot to be desired...I don't need my dude to look like a harlequine from Dawn of War or anything, all jumping around like a fool, but something more than standing there like a fool while I wait for my cooldowns would be nice.
