I have to say that I find it amusing that you are using the opinion of the person you mentioned (no offense to him), but are conveniently deciding to disregard the scores of other people who will tell you the game is in a sad state of affairs right now.   You have to take the good with the bad.   Unless you are some sort of stock holder in EA Mythic, stop pretending that only the good things you hear from beta are true, while the countless more negative things that have come out are not because they don't fit your agenda.

If you took out the text "Closed Beta Footage" and replaced it with "Next WoW Expansion" it would be very convincing.  The fact that this game is already running upwards of a year behind schedule alone should be enough to tell you that there are major planning and management issues behind the creating of this game.   If you believe that it is merely "polish" that is delaying this game you are in for a rude awakening.  Missing classes and class balance in a game touting RvR is hardly what I would call "polish" .   These are major issues and when you consider we were almost 90 days from release until yesterday, they are going to have to do some serious evaluation about where they are taking this game.

The new release date has removed it from going head to head with AoC, but has instead put it in a realm of possibility that has it sitting next to the real next WoW expansion.    If there are 2 games sitting on the shelf that look almost like the same game, and one has over 3 years worth of content, mass media exposure, and 10 million subscribers, it may be tougher going for them.  They need to fix their marketing.

1) what i am saying is that that you have no right to say how the game feels because you have not played it

2) I have played WoW , I really like like their "cartoon" type graphics looks much better than some games that attempt to look "realistic" and I agree that current wow character on Medium - High settings look better than ones in WAR Beta on Very Low settings, however i have seen some in-game videos of what i think was Black Orc on what might be Very high settings(if ill find it again ill post the link) that made me think that every Orc that i have seen before in any game looked crap

 3)Only similaritys between Wow and WAR that i have noticed so far are : Both are Fantasy MMOs that makes them have elves(2 types actualy BE/NE in WoW and High/Dark in WAR), dw0rfs and orcs, swords, shields, bows and magic

I would trust more person who have at least played beta of the game than someone who have never played it... oh and .... could you point me out where exactly have i said something good OR bad about WAR in My post that you quoted

There are so many layers of genius here I really don't know what to say.

WAR reminds me of DAOC back in the days but with bad graphics for today standards.

i didn't find (yet, but i think it was on stage 6 and you knwo what heppened to it) that black orc video basicly what it was (from what i can remember right now) a black orc standing next to some big closed gates and whoever was playing it switched different gear...

Watched the latest VOTM and everything about the game screams dated...

- Animations and combat animations are horrible, they remind me of EQ back in 1999.
- Textures are sooo low detailed and lots looked smudged and nasty.
- Polygons everywhere like we used to get back in games like 8 years ago.

Frigging the game looks better than from previous years yeah but it's set to ship fall of this year and I just can't see all this changing by the end of the year. I mean frigging if these are the problems I can see and hear then I dread to think how bad and buggy the gameplay is going to be like.


Flame me all you like if you can't take the truth but the game just looks bad and this is a forum and i'm giving my feedback. Most of my friends who arn't hardcore mmo players and have only played games like COD and WOW just say they arn't going to buy the game cause the graphics suck. Frigging most of you say it's not about the graphics but you are confusing technical with artistic and besides the graphics are what you're looking at when playing so you have to like them.

 

The whole game just screams dated flop from the success everyone thinks it'll have atm, I reckon it'll just have a hardcore crowd of fanbois like 99% of the mmorpgs out there and slowly die like DAOC and most mmorpgs have been doing over the years. Not even Warhammer fans will like it because it just doens't say "Warhammer" to them and the way the game is set out is just DAOC and not Warhammer Table Top like the fans will want. It may have great sales but it wont hold many subs for long and I reckon after te first year it'll have around the average 100-200k subs most seem to have these days.

I totally agree with you.  Outdated is the big word here on a "next" generation game.  It looks plain ugly.  Baisc animations look like made from 10 year old.  Sound is horrible. 

This junk is a discrace to the Table top game and should be thrown out right now.

I'm not sure what games you guys over the ocean had 10 years ago but nothing that was out 10 years ago looked as detailed, had good shadowing and impressive lighting in it...infact most games from 10 years ago couldn't support more than 10 people on screen at a time.  

This game has to have 200 somethign people on screen at a time .. MMOs are not FPS games ... of course 10 years ago NOTHING looekd as good as WAR not even FPS games.

honestly what sort of crack are some of you people smoking complaining about MMO graphics?  Do you want the game to work on a massive scale or not?  Because frankly .. Im tired of pretty games that have suck gameplay ..and sucky ass graphical lag.

WAR looks awsome to me...well except the obvious low res beta footage but then again thats why its BETA footage.  They've never claimed NEXT GEN GRAPHICS not once.   Only MMO claiming that is AoC.
