Vanguard is a failure. SWG is a failure. What does it say about you that you can't find anything better to play besides these two games? If this is indeed the case, I really do believe you need to shut off your computers and go find something else to do.

This is a matter of principle. Sure, you can respond and say that there are things you personally like about these two games. But, in the end, you are missing the big picture. That picture is that you shouldn't be rewarding developers and publishers for releasing games before they are ready to be release. You shouldn't be rewarding developers and publishers for putting out rubbish for games. SOE simply doesn' t know how to develop and support games. Their bottom-line is all they are concerned about it and it shows with the quality of the games they produce. They got lucky ONE TIME with EQ1 and are to be commended for jumpstarting this genre of games. But, they have dropped the ball consistently (including the horrible release of EQ2), and you all want to continue to reward them. WHY?

It bothers me to no end when sincere people come here looking for a new game to play and you VG players are always to eager to lead these people down your bumpy & weed infested yellow brick road. Do any of you even understand what went down a year ago? If you had any moral clarity, you would spend your dollars elsewhere and simply let this game (along with SWG) die.

You use words like "principal" and "moral clarity"......on a topic about a video game. Of all the causes in the world, you chose VG to fight? You, sir, are a hero of the stupid. It's fine that you don't like the game but it's just not your business what other people do with their own money.

I am no fanboi of SOE, but, I do like EQ2, but dislike SWG...so I have an open mind, and will state how I feel about the game, so keep watching...

As a starter...my specs are (for 3 different systems)

E6600 OC'd to 3.0Ghz / 1333FSB (Also have an E6850 and an AMD 5600 that I will be testing)

2900Pro (also have an 8800GT and an ATI 3870 that I will test with the game over my 30 days)

3Gigs (also a 4 gig and 2 gig system,,,)

Windows XP and Vista

So basically, enough variation to make a reasonable decision on if this game is good or not.

Just as a start, over 3 days on the first system (E6600, 2900Pro, 3 gigs and XP) the framerates are all over the place. As a comparison, this same system runs EQ2 stable at between 40-60+ FPS (mostly upper 60's), and I have several issues regarding quests, latency, and what not...

But, I will be there for the full 30...so, keep an eye on my blog if you want to hear more. I will also report here for updates every once in a while.
