Originally posted by Travizty Problem with that is, people can potentially be tricked into funding a bad game. They can buy it at release and find out there are big issues and cancel, but by then they have already given their money and the damage has already been done. I think gamers, intelligently, want to know beforehand what the state of a game is so they can support it if its good, and not support it if its bad. Its kind of like the gaming version of Darwin's theory of evolution, where the poor dies out the the good rises above it. However, when you've got a system where you have to support a product financially before you can find out if its any good, you circumvent this process, and bad things that maybe should have died continue to live. Experienced gamers know that the only way to prevent mmo trash from continually being developed every year is to stop supporting it. So they want to know whats good and whats not beforehand. Unfortunately some companies found a loophole to avoid negative criticism and prevent this healthy process from occuring. But thats why I would never pay for anything without having tested it first. |

Well, you have the most patience of anyone I saw. That game came out 2 years ago and is supposedly still a wreck. After 2 years, you're still saying it has potential? When exactly is potential supposed to be fulfilled? A decade after release? Personally, I won't keep giving 15 bucks a month to something with "potential". If it isn't satisfying, my money is better spent elsewhere. And I am most certainly not being guinea-pigged into another mega-flop mmo missing half of it's stuff at launch, which is what AOC is smelling like from all of the talk. Just look at the preview stuff released this close to launch. Look at the leaked beta talk. Look at every damn video thus far and it's all the same crap (lowbie tortage island stuff, nothing about end-game or pvp really, just talk), with nothing specific. A ton of videos of some guys TALKING about stuff there will be. You're a sucker if you buy this game before being able to play at least a pre-order beta. |

You guys talk like you've never gone to a bad movie (or movies for that matter). Sometimes when the activity offers some very subjective form of entertainment, nothing can beat a trial. Sometimes it's also better to try and know you don't like than don't try and wonder if following other people's opinions was the best course of action. |

I'm a veteran gameplayer but even if AoC has no open beta, I'll be playing it. To be honest, I don't care if its good or bad..I just want a filler until Warhammer releases(and I pray daily that warhammer will be as good as UO, EQ1, DAoC, and WoW has been, in the long term). I agree that its nice to pre-play a game to make sure its not a flop, but one poster had the right of it; some movies are good and some are crap but we still go to them. The only thing I worry about when not being able to open beta a game before release is WILL IT WORK ON MY COMPUTER. It should be a criminal offense to put minimum requirements on a box that are unplayable(unplayable = 10FPS or lower, or cannot finish download, or black screen of death). I preordered this game in Gamestop or EBGames(can't remember which), but I've been buying my mmorpg games lately from WalMart because you can return the crap if its actually broken. |

Should i pre-order from some place in UK to be safe?
Sorry to bother, and maybe with noob questions, but since i'm so willing to play it, and i'm about to spend money on it, just want to be sure ;)
Thanks ahead! |

There are no AoC edition available in other languages than English (yet). So I would advise you to pre-order from a shop closest to your country. Since the travel distance will be less and the same goes for the shipping fee. |
