I know latency issues can make a difference, mainly in PVP but its always nice to play togheter and have a big community. Internet should bring people togheter and bring the love!

We all speak english anyway so why not ?

And if we want to fight and hate each others.. better online then in the real world right ?

My opinion? yes, we should have the chance to play in whatever server we want to play, so international guilds wouldn't have a problem getting together, NCsoft's opinion? Not confirmed yet, if we check precedents, though, LineageII had a system like the one I want, Euros had (1 year after release) their server with low ping and nice times, but they were able to play in NA servers, and vice versa. Aion will start with european servers from day 1 unlike L2, but I bet that if they don't need to forbid something, they won't.

The poll is a bit weird, since I don't want EU and US players to share the same servers, but I'd rather want the chance to do so, and the chance to do the opposite.

I hate games that really are putting a block on not playing in your area. WoW stopped allowing my gf credit card to play on NA servers because it was a UK address. The crazy thing is that the Euro servers actually lagged more for here than the NA ones.

I believe you should have localized servers to allow people to feel close and better latency. Although I really have yet to see a latency issue playing in the US or UK into other countries. I do think you should have the option to play on either servers though.

To be honest, SOE has done the best job of this. They have one game and allow you to choose the client ie EQ2, at the launchpad you select a location if you wish to play on the EU servers. SWG just has all the servers listed and tells you which ones are EU based.

For CoH, you have to buy the client for the proper area but at least they allow foreign payments. You do have to choose which one you want to sub for but still way better than not having the choice at all. Which I believe LotRO did, I never totally found out what issues people had but because of Codemasters in EU I heard that they did not allow foreign billing even if you got a hold of the client. I could be wrong on this.

One of the kickers for me with MMOs is what my server options are and am I allowed to play with my friends back in the states while I am in the UK and vice versa.

I hope Aion will follow the same route as Lineage 2 as far as servers are concerned. Assign a few servers as Euro servers but allow people to chose wether they want to play on a US server or EU server.

Im just hopeing for EU servers to be ready at same time as the NA ones are.

Both are fine to me but I'd still prefer to play all together than separated.

i have bad experiences playing with americans, mainly greed, ive prolly been unlucky though

I think, that if u buy an European copy of the game u should be allowed to European servers, and the same for American servers.

To avoid some gold selling problems, to avoid being in a party and one of the players as to sudennly leave because of the huge time gap, and well, even social problems could be brought abroad, with players imposing manteinance in other schedules cause their play time im america would be different from the one in europe..

I mean.. i forsee so many problems if such merge was possible, that i would rather prefer that would be block from start..

However if u really wanna play in american servers, u would have just to buy an american copy of the game.. i think it would work better for all like this :).

I think they should have only NA and only EU servers along with mixed servers to let the players decide. Personally, I prefer mixed and fully agree the op they summed it up nice.

And to Limit, not all americans are the same, you may issues with america and that is fine, but please don't assume we or any citizen of any country are all the same. I've played with many honest NA players so don't give up on us yet lol. I'm sorry you met a few bad ones but please don't judge 300 million people on how a few idiots act.
