Yea but sam has become what he says he hates. He mills about over the same thing over and over again. He wants vets to get over the game changes and move on but he can not get over the vets not moving and keeps chewing on it while telling them they need to stop chewing them selfs. He is welcome to pull up to the trough and dig in but lets drop the hypocrisy. |

Originally posted by PreCU I too think this. If we keep lobbying, if we keep arguing, if we keep showing that we are interested then, one way or another, the game will come back - either a as retro servers from SOE or from those small groups outside SOE who cannot be named... Never give up the fight. |

Originally posted by SonnoI have found peace in SWGEmu. its not completely finished to say the least, but just last night, I was sitting on Dath, in the preCU darkness, hunting rancors and Nightsisters... as a master swordsman, master scout, TK novice, and I had an effin blast. It made me realize just how much I missed that feeling. NO, our game is not coming back... FROM SOE. thats why I worship the ground that the SWGEmu developers walk on =) God bless them all =) just in case you havent heard of it, go to www.swgemu.com enjoy =)

Yup, I'll probably never play SWGEmu, I've played it a little in the past and it's fairly decent but I'm not into independant servers with potential asshat admins.

The original game did so poorly that they did a revamp of it, twice. Why do people think that they will ever bring back pre-CU?
Seriously I liked the game too but they did the CU because the game was dying. The CU did well... for a month or two. Then everyone left because all the people said "so what do i do now?" It's the problem the original game had, plus major imbalances (buffs). It's shame they just did'nt just fix that and add more content (which is what people like jfreeman even wanted to do), but they didn't. Then after the CU failed as well, they did the NGE. They fixed the wrong problem twice. That doesn't change the fact that LA/SOE are going to see pre-CU as unsuccessful, because it was losing subs.
Just saying is all. Just try to move on, they ain't bringing it back. |

pre-cu was not going to die it was one of the greatest systems ever put into an mmorpg. if it had been fixed and if content had been put in and if the pvp system was made better with ranks to show who the top pvper is then swg would have warcraft numbers if not more. |

Originally posted by Cutedge Firstly, the very fact that SOE is crazy enough to keep revamping the game is precisely why there is a good chance that one day they might revamp the game right back to pre-CU. Secondly, if the game was 'dying', how come it had 250,000 subscribers? Thirdly, 'the game ain't coming back'? Yeah, right. That's what people like you said about Classic Coke, Futurama and Apple. And, you know what?, people like you were wrong. |

But the trouble is nobody knew how many subs SWG at anytime in its life.its just speculation on former players part. I certainly didnt get any emails saying woohoo we've got ammount of subscibers now inthe way Blizzard do so its just speculation. |

SOE was looking at the game's state in the wrong way, they were trying to compare to WoW, 250K subs vs 6M subs (at the time) were uncomparable yet they thought bringing out the NGE would boost that. Many MMOs out there are a success with 150-300K subs, why SOE didn't stay satisfied with that. I guess you can say EQ2 is doing poorly too because the player population is dropping too? SWG has what now? 10K active subs nowadays? If Smedley denies it and wants to prove me wrong, he can go ahead and release the subscription numbers, but oh that's not going to happen because since the NGE they had stopped stating how many copies they've sold and haven't stated how many active subs there were, let alone packaged copies of the game aren't being sold anymore.
