Red Dwarf and Mystery Science Theater 3,000 I find most sci-fi shows and movies tend to be on the corny side anyway so I like the ones that don't take themselves too seriously. |

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine The reimagined Battlestar Galactica Followed closely by Babylon 5 I could never get into Firefly the series, but enjoyed Serenity immensely...probably because it brought all the major plot elements together in one package. I'd sure like to see more of Firefly, though. CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested. Once a denizen of Ahazi |

The BSG series is one I would love to check out from the begining... however the STARGATE shows, I just can't get into... I loved the movie but every time I try to watch any of the shows the acting/writing and over all 'cheap' feel of the show just turns me off in a few minutes. The few episodes I've seen in full pretty much just 'sucked' in my opinion : \ Maybe I just caught the crappy ones though... but it really ticks me off that such a seemingly junk show can last so long while FIREFLY, a brilliantly written, acted and directed show dies before even finishing its first season... |

Anyone here remember a show called Space: Above and Beyond? That show was good, too, and just like Firefly it was canceled. :( Space: Above and Beyond Clip <<<< OMG this made me cry. So did the last scene of the episode Sugardirt when West was looking at the clock and then looks at the others and says..."I feel like I am suppose to be doing something...." and Vansen looks to the clock and realizes that it was the same time that she use to have them radio back to the Saratoga to do a mission report...19:30hr and she starts to cry. When she did that...OMG I started crying, too. ![]() |

Firefly is really good stuff. Just watched them the other day. It's a bit more like a western in space than it is a full-blown "sci-fi" show, but hey. Watched Serenity again yesterday. Great movie. Serenity ties up a bunch of loose ends, so you'll want to watch the TV shows first if possible. Speaking of which, in the words of "your company's computer guy,"... You're Welcome! http://www.veoh.com/tv-shows/Fox-Firefly The first couple seaons of Sliders is suprisingly good sci-fi, too. Lots of "what if" worlds. |

1) Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - best Trek show of the all! Great stories and great character developement. All the characters were well fleashed out. Even the ones who were semi-regulars like Garak. Also liked Enterprise during the last 2 season. Many people got all up in arms about the canon thing. Personally, I say bugger the canon. It's a TV show not a religon. 2) Batllestar Galactica (new) - Like DS9 it also has great characters and a gripping story to tell. Really edge of your seat stuff. Took a while to get use to the shaky, quick- zoom camera work for the battle scenes but got use to it. Besides it help prepare me for Cloverfield. Didn't get motion sick at all!! |

1. Babylon 5 Honorable Mention: Firefly, which would almost certainly have been in the running for being the best, but which was tragically cut short... very short. |

Firefly - I still hate FOX for it. A great show like Firefly with interesting characters and world, which takes time to into, is so much more gratifying that some mindless action show. =========================================================== |

Babylon 5 and Alien Nation Babylon 5 is probably one of the greatest stories I've ever experienced sci-fi or not. Alien Nation had only one season but its characters were well developed. Sadly it suffered the fate of most solid sci-fi shows and was cancelled after one season. |

I'm not really a trekkie, but I'd say Star Trek: The Next Generation is the best sci-fi series I've watched. But, I havn't seen Firefly yet... mostly cuz my satellite service is broken.
I used to watch Quantum Leap, too, but... I always thought it was either funny or stupid. Sliders wasn't bad.... If I had to pick a second, though, I'd have to say the infamous X-FILES! |
