IGG has announced the addition of a brand new fishing system to Voyage Century Online.

Voyage Century Online will be launching a brand new Fishing System, which differs in many ways from the former one.

The Fishing area has been changed from the offshore area to the high sea. The new system offers more rewards, more coins, more Holy water, and more rare advanced equipment material. In addition, Players no longer need to worry about loot dropped by monsters being robbed by other players, or not being able to afford some elite equipment.

In order to offer players the best gaming experience, the Voyage Century team will continue perfecting the game. Watch for more new systems being developed soon!

Damn, that text is from the IGG website ...

Those news authors seem to have no clue about the game they are attending.

The High Sea Fishing does in no way replace the old fishing system, that is still there and won't even change. It's just an addition that allows you to collect some nice loot. On the downside, so far the only way to perform the High Sea Fishing is to buy fishing rods and bait in the Item Mall. So you have to spend real money for a chance on ingame loot.

Neither the new nor the old fishing system have anything to do with monsters or stuff like that. Those only exist on land and although some drop nice loot that many people are after, loot can't be "robbed" from you if you are present, if you are not the corpse with the loot in it will disappear after a few seconds anyway. Before that, right after the "monster" has died there's about 10 seconds of loot protection in which only the killer can loot the corpse.

People who can afford high sea fishing (takes real money after all), can also afford anything else, they can just buy stuff on the IM and sell it ingame.

The IGG support for VCO is really a poor one. I have yet to meet a CSR who knows the game better than a player who has played for 2 weeks. Most are way worse actually and I don't see why IGG hires Chinese if they don't know the game at all. Only because the original version of the game is Chinese doesn't mean that Chinese CSRs are better CSRs. No, it only adds a language barrier and a real bad one I must say.

MMO doesn''t mean only Groups/Guilds/PvP gaming.
It’s many people playing *different* game styles.

Also, to add, the fishing poles are not tradeable to others, either. So you're stuck with it, and the never ending task of buying IM bait to use it.

And who needs the epic gear? Almost everyone in game now has the fourth and third highest level armor and weapons -- and no one wants the refined steel or plate, because it can LOWER weapon and armor stats. You can see 4 Royal Highnesses (highest noble rank ingame) just standing around like a bump on a log in one city alone, showing off their flaming XP scroll bought falchions all under their 500pt IM coverall suit (which is stupid, as there's no need to hide the suit level, the glow tells everyone what's underneath).

VCO is basically an Item Mall game now. Hurricane Island can't be survived without spending $$$ on goods to even survive with the highest level armor available -- and no one can kill the T-Rex alone, you have to go in with a WHOLE Black armored guild to kill it off (if your ship can even survive getting into the island).

What a rip off.
